Ranboo's glare is like a knife

Tommy was dragging on his initial fate for a straight 3 hours now. Wilbur had dropped him off at the apartment complex a while ago and he simply walked in, waited 'till his friend left and then exited the building. He knew what was to come when he entered his home.

His stupidity had made him keep his phone on silent mode for the whole night, only noticing the number of texts and missed calls he had gotten over the span of a few hours from his roommates in the morning. He hadn't even answered them yet nor read some of them out fully since he didn't want them to see the little 'read' thingy on the bottom of a text.

Tommy was royally fucked.

Finally, he got the courage and stepped into the elevator which had a quite peculiar mark on it almost as if somebody had rammed into the doors. The lift made its way up and when he stepped out, he had to ready his tail not to swing back and forth wildly.

His hands slowly reached up to the wooden door which was almost ripped out of its hinges. Fingers curling around the doorknob with a pounding heart he decided that it was better to knock then just enter his house.

As he balled his hands into a fist, he softly knocked on his portal to hell.

Somebody peeked through the little peek window on top.

Multicolored eyes met his own ones and suddenly the door was swung open.

"Tommy!", somebody crashed into his body.

He looked up into the eyes of Ranboo, but there wasn't any joy in them. Only anger.

His roommate was never angry. Only slightly mad sometimes when he dropped a water glass or spilled some tea. Though what were in the eyes of his friend wasn't that sort of mad. What was currently in him was anger. Real anger.

"You know, I have the right mind to yell at you right now. Yet I do think that Tubbo's going to be the one doing that."

Tommy's head wandered down, once he stepped one foot into that house a fury of rage was going to meet him. He collected up himself and nodded. Then, he went inside.

"Hey, who was at the door? Did any of the Niki find Tommy?"

His gaze lifted and was met with Tubbo's who had just switched his own away from a flyer.

"Oh, so there you are! Had fun wherever the hell you were for a straight...let's see 12 HOURS?!"

Tommy suddenly felt his own sea of pent up furry built around him. He just had to keep it in him.

"So sorry Mom. I was out cold on the floor of the storage room from the café, good thing Wilbur actually went looking for me and brought me to his house."

"Who the hell is Wilbur?", Tubbo's voice reeked a bit with confusion.

"My friend who-"

"Oh, I understand. You replaced us because we won't be your sidekicks."

Wrong move.

"Come on Toby, he's just a guy who was nice to me and actually tried to at least see me once a day. Unlike you all who I hardly see."

"Well, I would see you more often if you left some time for us in your busy, crime fighting life."

"You're one to talk. I mean seriously, you didn't even tell me that you and Ranboo were off to have a debut."

"Maybe we did that because we didn't want to be your little pets!"

Tommy gulped. He knew it was true, everything his friend was saying was true and he hated it. He did treat his friends like sidekicks and pets and objects.

"I... I'm sorry. I-"

"Shut up! You don't have any reason to be pitied on right now. Why don't you go out and run away to Wilbur. You could make him his sidekick."

He felt like he had been stabbed right through his heart with a knife.

Tubbo was seething and bathing in anger and resentment. Tommy thought he had built up alot of it, turns out his was a centimeter, whilst his roommate's was a mile.

Ranboo still stood on the other side of the room, eyes frozen. Almost looking at Tubbo in agreement.

Tears started building up and he knew he had that kicked puppy kind of look in his face because even for a moment the look in his friend's eyes switched to something comfy and soft. Then they hardened again to a ferocious sneer.

He couldn't do it and so he did the last plausible thing he could. He ran. As he bounded into their bedroom, he didn't even take a second thought as his hands reached for his gear.

Grabbing for any gun, bomb and grappling hook, Tommy barricaded the door with a box and a chair. Ranboo and Tubbo banged at the door. Suddenly he remembered the most important thing and made sure to strap Clementine safely against him before opening their window.

Just in that moment he leaped out of the gap with one of his favorite grappling hooks and swung from building to building.

Sobs left his mouth in a fit of fear and frustration.

Everything blurred by as he suddenly crashed into something, luckily not the hero tower this time. Instead, he met eyes with a cell tower on a roof.

He could sleep here.

Tommy was just so exhausted.

Even if it was in the middle of the day, it didn't matter because in his vigilante clothing he couldn't go out either way.

He stretched out on the concrete with his backpack as a pillow and Clementine cuddled up in the crook of his neck.

Nightmares fell through his mind instantly.

He was stranded on a little platform above boiling magma.

Ranboo was on the right platform of his own next to Tommy.

Up over them was a small room where Tubbo sat down, a button for each platform in hand.

The lava was rising and to save a person, Tubbo had to press their button.

The heat was thickening around him, and he didn't think neither him nor Ranboo could hold out in the heat for much longer without dying of heatstroke.

Parched tongues and sweating foreheads plagued both of them and then, a button was pressed.

Ranboo's platform started rising above the magma and Tommy's started sinking down into the heat.

He screamed but no sound came out of his throat. Only a hoarse croak responded to what he wanted to yell at Tubbo.

Because as lava surrounded him on all sides, the worst realization dawned upon the burning boy.

Tubbo could have pressed both buttons at the same time.
