"I would like...a caramel crumble muffin and a coffee."
Tommy stared at the lady who was ordering from him. Usually, he would just give them the food and drinks they asked for. But this time it was a bit hard to do so...since well...
"Uhm, sorry but...we don't serve any caramel crumble muffins right now, they're all sold out" Tommy apologized, this was sort of a lie, the truth was that Ranboo had stolen all of the muffins so he could feed his weird spaghetti loving cat friends with them. He was fairly sure this was cult activity, but couldn't judge him.
"Why are you sold out?" the woman started snapping, Tommy just rolled his eyes, "Well, my friend took all the muffins already, could you possibly order something else? You're holding up the line quite a bit". He glanced behind the woman at the other costumers, one of them was already getting annoyed and the other was just on a phone talking loudly to somebody else.
"This is unacceptable! I walked into this store, expecting to be met with good customer service and food, I am getting none of that! You know what? I think I am going to call your manager. Where are they?" the woman had the ugliest haircut which matched her fake Gucci clothing and snakeskin looking purse.
Tommy just rolled his eyes once he was done and pulled out his phone, dialing in Nikis number. His phone rang for a while, before Niki picked up and said a sweet "Hallo?". He grinned, put his old phone on speaker and told Niki about the costumer who wanted to speak to her.
"Oh, well, there's nothing I can do about this right now. You see, I'm at the beach right now with Puffy. I think I'll come back until a few days from now so..." She explained to Tommy, before telling him what to tell the costumer.
After a few moments, Tommy nodded his head and hung up. Turning to the woman who he found out was called Gertrude, he said, "Well, I'm very sorry but my boss is currently out of town with some old friends. You'll have to either leave or just order something different."
"Ugh!" The womans nostrils flared and she stomped out of the shop, not before knocking over the tip jar.
Tommy sighed and looked around, the customers had all left already, which left him all alone in the shop.
The store was decorated with dark wooden tables which stood by soft, white cushioned stools. Fairy lights were strung up around the shop, giving the place a cozy feeling, these accented well with the granite counters where he served drinks from.
Tommy sat down on the floor of the café, today he hadn't taken Clementine with, simply because she was sleeping while he had tried to get her. Either way, he wanted her to see him work on a busier day and not such a lazy one like today.
The café was in District 8, a nice, but not too nice District. Although compared to District 14, this place was a luxury.
Suddenly Tommy heard the bell right, the soft chime echoing through the wooden shop. He stood up and put on a customer smile, something he had practiced many times before. In walked a young adult. He wore a clean, mustard yellow sweater and a red beanie.
He looked around the store in wonder, before his eyes landed on Tommy. The man walked over to him, smiled and started talking, "May I please have a medium coffee, with cream, sugar and whipped cream, a chocolate chip cookie and a green tea please?" his voice sounded sweet, but had a rough undertone which only came from a large amount of screaming.
Tommy nodded and started making the drinks, his hands swept over sweeteners, creamers and tea bags. As he looked over at the costumer, he noticed that the man had sat down on one of the chairs, his phone pulled out and swiping around. He was trying very hard to look like he was doing work or reading something, but Tommy could hear the faint sound of the Subway Surfers theme song come from his phone.
Chuckling to himself, he stopped his hands from moving, forgetting that he hadn't asked for the guy's order name. Tommy spoke up, "Excuse me? Sorry but I forgot to ask for your order name.". The guy turned his head up and said, "Oh it's fine, Wilbur would be the name then." Tommy nodded and scribbled Wilbur across the cups and food baggie. On the tea's cup he drew a little crown over his name, on the cookie he drew a little bird and on the coffee's cup he wrote a small note saying: I can hear the Subway Surfer music from all the way over here.
He chuckled at his own joke, before calling out the order name and handing Wilbur his drinks and food. The beanie man sipped at his coffee, before looking down on the cup and noticing the note written on it. Though as he turned around to tell the kid that the music wasn't from Subway Surfers, but from a rip off version of it he found on one of those offline game websites, Tommy had already left to the back to go and find his phone so he could call and tell Tubbo he was going to come and patrol tonight.
Wilbur sighed and decided that he would have to come here again, the baristas had humor and the coffee was great. He sighed and smiled softly while walking out of the door, his feet silently walking across the street to get to his house all the way in District 1.
Tommy stepped out of the storage room, the phone still held to his ear while Tubbo animatedly told Tommy about his day and how he had fed a bunch of geese with Ranboo at their lunch break. Tubbo worked at an office supplies store, while Ranboo worked at a Home Deput. They all had low pay jobs, that's why Tommy had become a vigilante, to get more money.
He finished his work in a few hours, and since he was already a bit tired. Tommy decided he would go fall asleep on one of the counters. He let his head rest on the cold granite, before sleep took him away to dream land.
