Alex
I could feel the wind pushing my crown off of my head and my feet getting tangled in weeds and dead branches. They crumpled under my feet when I stepped on them and wrapped themselves around my legs, pulling at them to stop me from running. Though, my speed at which I was running allowed my legs to easily break anything in my path, which were only broken off and dead branches. My cape was too, getting caught in the trees. It had already, a few rips and cuts from the branches surrounding me.
I haven't exactly introduced myself have I? I haven't even told you why I'm running. We'll get to that later, right now, it's not necessarily important. My name is Alexander William Gaskarth III, Prince of the Haeswen Kingdom. Well, one of the princes. I'm the last from my other two brothers, the youngest. The oldest of us, who was originally named Tom, had moved on King of his own kingdom. Right now, it's only me and Joseph. That was what my parents originally planned on naming him, so we called him that instead of Alex so we didn't get each other confused. My parents are Queen Isobel and King Peter.
My parents weren't exactly.. The nicest parents in the world. My mother was the calm one, whilst my father was very strict. We even had curfews. We couldn't waste a bite of food, had to be home and "in bed", which really just means in our rooms or so, by nine o'clock, and of course we had daily chores. For a prince, you'd think life would be all dandy and have everything handed to you, but really, I have to work my ass off to get things that I want. My father was always like that.
To be honest, I was terrified of my father. I have many secrets, and if he found out any of them, just one, he'd surely disown or even execute me. My father isn't exactly the type to support "equal rights." And therefore, he wants all of his kids to be straight. Me though, I wasn't. Joseph knew, but he never said anything about it. We can trust each other and I'm really close to him. Joseph is straight and so is Tom, I'm really the only one who isn't. And to make the matters worse; I've been seeing a king lately.
But the thing is, he's not just any King, he's young and three years older than me. He's a teenager like me, we have the same interests and sense of humor. He doesn't even act like a king half the time, and when I first ran into him in the forest I would have never even thought of him being one. His name is Jack Bassam Barakat II, and I found it quite unique. I've actually never heard a name like that, and though it's probably just a normal name, I find it interesting. He can be mature at times, and just act like a five year old at other times, and he makes a lot of dick jokes surprisingly.
I enjoy them though, they're funny. He's funny, and adorable honestly. I've been meeting him in the same place; basically I've been sneaking out somewhere almost everyday. My parents hadn't caught me.. Yet. I've always been a quiet and sly person.
For a quiet and sly person, I was actually making a lot of noise. Suddenly, I felt a force pull on my leg and bring me down. I yelled out a curse word in pain from collapsing chest-first into the twigs, and looked back at my foot that was caught between a log. I vigorously tried to tug my leg out of it, but failed horribly by getting it caught in the weeds. I sighed in defeat and lied my head down in the leaves. I was about ready to give up until I heard a familiar voice, and I looked up to see Jack's beautiful chocolate brown eyes.
He had a slight smile on his face and he looked as if he were trying his hardest not to laugh at me. "How did you manage to do this?" He asked and bent down near my foot, examining everything. I shrugged and looked back at him. "I was running really fast and I got it tangled in there." I had a slight pout as I tried again to pull my leg out. "Hey, lex, stop," Jack mumbled and pulled out a small knife. "You're gonna get it even more tangled." I just obeyed and sighed quietly, watching as he cut the weeds and freed me.
I instantly stood up and hugged him tightly, resting my head on his shoulder. "Be more careful next time." Jack mumbled, and I nodded as he picked the leaves out of my caramel locks and kissed my head. "I missed you." I mumbled, earning a small chuckle from the older male. "It's been two days." He laughed softly and ran a hand down my side, holding onto my thigh. I only shrugged and pressed a soft kiss to his jaw, holding onto my crown to keep it on my head since I had to look up on him.
