"Why do I need more clothes? I'm happy with the ones I have." Rosalie complained as the hybrid pulled her into the store.
"We have an important meeting tonight and you can't attend in sweatpants. We need something more fitting for you, maybe something a little sexier." Rosalie scoffed as the hybrid grinned at her.
"Yes, let's objectify women. Sounds fun." Rosalie groaned. "I could always just wait at the hotel, while you go alone."
"Don't be silly, love. It's so much more fun with you." Niklaus started browsing through the dresses while Rosalie looked over his shoulder and cringed at some of his choices. Soon enough he had acquired a pile of clothes and pulled Rosalie to the dressing room.
"Hurry up, love. We don't have all day." Rosalie could hear his impatient voice on the other side of the curtain as she pulled up the short blue dress.
"I can't reach the zipper." She said stepping out of the dressing room, holding the dress up. Niklaus stood up and went behind her. A shiver hushed down her spine, when his warm hands touched the skin on her back.
"I don't like it." Rosalie said looking at herself in the mirror, pulling down the skirt uncomfortably.
"Then try another one." Before she realised what happened, Klaus was behind her opening the zipper for her and holding the curtain open.
Rosalie quickly stepped out of the dress. She groaned as she looked at the next one. The dress was longer than the one before but the fabric had a vibrant scarlet color. Rosalie didn't like being the center of attention, something dresses like these would guarantee. She didn't even try it on before throwing it on the blue dress from before. The next dress was a black dress that went up to her knees. It had long sleeves which Rosalie enjoyed, but also had a very deep neckline. Her boobs were basically completely out there.
"I really don't want to come out in this one." She muttered through the curtain.
"Oh come on, love, it can't be that bad." She could practically hear his grin. He was enjoying seeing her uncomfortable. So she slowly pulled the curtain aside and stepped outside, keeping her eyes to the ground. "Alright, I like this one, but go ahead and try the other dresses on."
Rosalie was relieved that he wouldn't force her out like this. She felt so vulnerable with so much of her body on show. She quickly pulled the curtain shut behind her, glad to have a little bit of distance to the hybrid. The last dress was emerald green with spaghetti straps. It ended mid thigh and wrapped beautifully around her waist. The back cutout made her slightly uncomfortable, but not as much as the other dresses.
Niklaus smiled, when she stepped out of the dressing room. "I think we have a winner."
"I guess, it's better than the other dresses." Rosalie muttered looking at herself in the mirror.
"You look beautiful, love." The hybrid made the girl blush. "Let's hurry, we still need shoes."
Back at the hotel room Rosalie was now ready to go. The dress matching her eyes beautifully. The silver high heels Niklaus had insisted on were terrible to walk in and hurt a lot. Her blonde hair fell in waves over her back. She bit her lip, looking at the reflection of the hybrid standing behind her.
"I really would much rather stay here." She informed him once again.
"I know, love, but we all gotta do our part." His hands played with a strand of her hair. "Yours is to charm his informant. We have been over the story, do you remember everything?"
Rosalie nodded. "Alright then let's get going."
The bar was modern. Dark blue walls and warm lights accented by lots of wooden details. Rosalie looked around unsurely trying to find the man she was supposed to meet. Finally she saw a man sitting alone at the bar. She took the seat next to him and he immediately looked up.
"And why haven't I seen you here before?" The dark haired man asked smiling at her.
"I'm only passing through." Rosalie eyed the man. "Are you Marcus?"
"Who's asking?" He was now more suspicious. Had Rosalie already screwed up?
"I know Professor Williams. He told me you'd be here tonight and sends his apologies, that he won't make it tonight." Rosalie smiled.
"How do you know Harry?" The man asked as she ordered a drink. She needed it, she was sure he could hear her shaking. Niklaus definitely could from the other side of the room.
"He has been helping me a lot. I'm a big fan of his studies." Rosalie said carefully. "He said that you could perhaps help me."
"A sweet girl like you, sure." Marcus grinned. "What do you need help with?"
"You see, I never met my parents, but I know they are from around here somewhere. And since Professor Williams knows so much about people like me, he agreed to help me." Rosalie took a first sip of the drink. The alcohol immediately calming her nerves.
"People like you?" Marcus raised an eyebrow.
"You know what I mean..." Rosalie took another sip of her drink. "Wolves."
Marcus coughed a little surprised. "You're one of us?"
Rosalie nodded, "Can you lead me to them?"
"What did you say your name was?" Marcus eyed her now with suspicion again. He clearly was torn between gaining favours with the pretty blonde girl and the loyalty to his pack.
"She didn't tell you her name yet, mate." Rosalie didn't have to turn around to feel Niklaus standing behind her. Marcus got up from his seat, looking alarmed.
"What do you want with my pack?" Marcus asked already looking at his escape route. But Niklaus had already grabbed him before he could even make a step. Rosalie looked away as Niklaus bit into his own wrist forcefully feeding the werewolf his blood. Then she heard a loud crack. She felt Niklaus sit down next to her.
"You did well, love. Now we celebrate." He ordered another round not looking at the unconscious man at the floor. Rosalie didn't see any need to celebrate, but she didn't mind another drink or two. Or five. Before she knew it she had kicked off her heels and was dancing around the bar barefooted. Niklaus was watching her jumping around gleefully. It was a nice change to see her happy. He finished his drink and stepped outside to make a phone call.
In the meantime Rosalie stumbled to the bathroom. She had definitely had too much to drink, but it was like long awaited relief for her. So much pain and pressure and now for a moment she could just let go. She was about to head back to the dance floor, when a pair of hands grabbed her and pulled her into a dark hallway.
She rolled her eyes, tired of Niklaus pulling and pushing her all the time. She glared at the man in front of her, but panic rose in her when she realised that this wasn't Niklaus. She tried to push the man off, prying his hands of her bodies. But she was too weak. She screamed and squirmed, tried anything to make him stop.
Niklaus had returned to the bar to find that Marcus had woken up. He quickly fed him a drop of Elena's blood and commanded him to go home and meet them at the hotel the next morning. Then Niklaus looked around the bar, not seeing the blond girl he grew angry. Had she dared to try to escape him? Betrayed him even? He stormed through the back exit, when he heard her muffled cries. His anger immediately redirect at whoever was causing her pain.
"Get your hands away from the girl." A deep growl cut through the dark. Rosalie recognised it instantly. Niklaus had found her. Relief flooded her body when her attacker's hands finally let go.
"Woah, man. Relax, we were just having some fun. It's not like she didn't want it." Rosalie felt sick. The room was spinning and she had difficulties to focus. Then she heard his lifeless body thump to the ground as Niklaus ripped his heart out of his chest.
"Are you alright, love?" Niklaus was hovering over her, looking concerned. She nodded slowly and then she did something Niklaus didn't expect. Rosalie clutched his chest tightly.
"Thank you, Nik." she whispered into his shoulder. Carefully he placed his arms around the girl.
"Let's get you out of here." He picked the shivering girl up and carried her to the car and fastened her seatbelt.
