Rosalie tried to focus on her work. She tried as hard as she could, but she couldn't help but glance towards the hybrid, that was talking to Elena and Damon.
"Don't mind me." She heard Niklaus say. Without even looking she could already imagine the cocky grin that was probably plastered on his lips.
"You're gonna do this in the grill? In front of everyone? Including your little girlfriend Rosalie over there?" Rosalie's head shot around, when she heard Damon say her name. She glared at the dark haired vampire, "That's a little beneath you, don't you think?"
"I don't know what you're talking about. I just came down to my local pub to grab a drink with a mate." Rosalie watched from the table she was cleaning, as Niklaus turned around to the man behind him. She knew the man, it was one of the werewolves he had turned. "Get a round, would you, Tony?"
"So you stuck around town long enough for happy hour?" She heard Damon's voice again, as she headed to the next table that needed to be cleared. "Or did your girlfriend convince you to stay around?"
"My sister seems to be missing. Need to sort that out." Niklaus hissed at the vampire, making a shiver run down Rosalie's spine.
"Cute, blonde bombshell, psycho. Shouldn't be too hard to find." Damon didn't seem impressed by the hybrid in front of him.
"Truth is, I've grown to rather like your little town. I think I might fancy a home here." Niklaus spoke, taking some darts out of Damon's hand. "Well, I imagine you're wondering, how does this affect you. The answer is, not in the slightest. As long as I get what I want and everybody behaves themselves, you can live your little lives however you choose. You have my word."
"What more could you possibly want?" Elena finally spoke up, her voice shaking.
"For starters, you can tell me where I might find Stefan." The hybrid turned around taking a step towards Elena. Damon quickly placed himself in front of Elena protectingly.
"Stefan skipped town the minute he saved your ass." The vampire spoke coldly.
"You see, that is a shame." Rosalie almost shrieked in surprise, when Niklaus spun around and threw the darts towards the board, hitting the bulls eye each time. "Your brother stole from me. I need him found, so I can take back what's mine."
"That sounds like a Klaus and Stefan problem." Niklaus took another step towards the doppelgänger giving her a threatening look. But again Damon stepped in between and the hybrid smirked.
"This is me broadening the scope, sweetheart." He said before turning around and walking off. Rosalie watched as he slid into a booth were the other hybrid was already waiting for him. She let go a breath she didn't realise she had been holding. Biting her lip, she continued to clean the table in front of her.
After her shift ended she grabbed her bag, wanting nothing more to head home. Her feet were tired and her head hurt. She passed Niklaus' table, giving him a quick smile.
"Rosalie, wait." He called after her and the blonde turned around. The hybrid gestured towards the empty seat. "Care to join me?"
The teen sighed and sat down, "Where has your friend run off to?"
"Oh, he has some errands to run." Rosalie frowned at the vague answer, the hybrid quickly added. "Believe me, it's better if you don't know."
"So what was that with Elena and Damon?" Rosalie asked, trying not show her curiosity.
"I thought you'd prefer to stay out of it?" The hybrid smirked, taking a sip of the drink in his hand. Rosalie rolled his eyes.
"Just because I don't want to be involved in your supernatural drama, doesn't mean I don't want to know what's going on." Rosalie countered, stealing a fry off his plate.
"Stefan stole something from me and I want it back." Niklaus face darkened as he thought about the betrayal, but pushed the plate over to her.
"Thanks." She smiled, grabbing a fork. "What did he steal?"
"My family." Rosalie rolled her eyes.
"You can't steal people. They're not objects."
"Are you siding with him?" Already a feeling of betrayal washing over him.
"Of course not, Nik," She gave him a reassuring smile, "But you did take his free will and try to kill his girlfriend."
"I should have killed him when I had the chance." Niklaus grunted. In his mind he was already imagining what he would do to him and his loved ones.
"So what are you going to do about it?" Rosalie asked, pulling the hybrid out of his thoughts.
"I won't hurt anyone, love. Don't worry, I got people for that." He grinned proudly at her. Rosalie pushed the plate back towards him.
"Alright, I got homework to do." She got up and grabbed her bag. Suddenly she was twirled back around, the hybrid now standing right in front of her.
"Oh come on, love. Don't be like that." He whispered, caressing her cheek.
"What did you do?" Rosalie moved his hand away from her face, giving him a disapproving look.
"I might have sent Tyler after young Jeremy Gilbert." Niklaus told her in a casual tone. When Rosalie froze, he raised an eyebrow.
"You did what? Nik, I worked with him. He's just a kid, what did he ever do to you?" She yelled at him, which resulted in an elderly couple at the next table giving them strange looks.
"I explained to you what collateral damage means, haven't I?" She wanted to wipe that stupid grin off his face. "It's not my fault you seem to care about every single soul in this god forsaken town."
"This is not funny, Nik." She turned around to leave, but it didn't take long for him to catch up to her.
"I'll fix it, okay? Little Gilbert won't get harmed. But for future references, perhaps you could get me a list with people you'd prefer alive." Rosalie scoffed and walked off.
Rosalie didn't understand why she was so shocked by this. She knew Niklaus was more than willing to hurt people to get whatever he wanted. And if she was honest, it wasn't like she ever liked Jeremy that much. He was always late, often stoned and never reliable. She was kind of glad, he got fired. But that didn't mean she wanted him dead. Why couldn't he understand that she simply didn't want anyone dead? Because he is a thousand year old hybrid that doesn't value human life, her consciousness chirped.
She hoped the bike ride home would have calmed her down, but she was still fuming by the time she reached her room. Slamming the door shut behind her, leaving her mum with a worried expression standing in the kitchen. She threw herself on the bed and pressed her face into the pillow. She breathed deeply for a few minutes, finally calming herself down.
Eventually she rolled off the bed and headed to her desk. She had loads of school work to catch up on thanks to her road trip. She bit her lip as she felt anger coming over her once more. She gripped her pencil and pulled open her history book, when her phone beeped. Rosalie furrowed her eyebrows when she looked at her screen.
I realise you missed a lot of class due to the Klaus situation, if you need help or want to borrow my notes, just call me.
