JUNGKOOK POV

"Hold still or you'll get it in
your eyes." Tae was fussing
like a mother hen.

I glared at his reflection.

We were at Got7 Above, Tae's salon and he'd closed up early
to focus on the task at hand.

I pouted as he repositioned my head to his liking before he parted another section of hair and applied more cold, thick goop to my skull.

I was going back to a warm brown, the color close to my natural tone and hair extensions of the same hue would then be added to complete my new look.

Not that I needed one.

I would have been happy to
wait till the blond grew out.

I hadn't even had a haircut
until now because I was trying
to get my hair back to the length I'd always worn.

According to Tae however, I
had so many split ends the only other alternative to my current torment was to get a buzzcut.

That wouldn't do when I needed to make the best first impression with Jimin as was possible.

Unable to stop myself from fidgeting beneath the plastic cape I wore, its tightness feeling like a noose around my neck, I wanted to tear it off and bolt
for the door.

I had no objection to changing things up but the situation I found myself in was more about me being too chicken to say
no to Tae than anything else.

Damn it, I felt like such a loser.

A loser who needed to rethink
his choice of friends.

Due to me opening my big mouth and telling Tae about the one that had gotten away, every moment since my arrival had been spent listening to him go over the details of his convoluted plan to "Get Jimin's head out
of his ass and sow the seeds
of lust."

"How much longer is this
gonna take?"

He couldn't see my arms, which were currently folded beneath the cape.

My pouting continued.

"Perfection takes time."

"Deal with it."

"What's got your tighty wedged up your ass, anyway?"

"You're seriously asking me that?"

Once again, I directed my scornful gaze at Tae's reflection.

My parents not only accepted every part of who I was but they'd also instilled values I
lived by to this day, honesty being among them.

This cloak and dagger crap was already stressing me out and knowing Tae, it was only the beginning.

It wasn't as though the opportunity to see Jimin had failed to present itself.

I'd been in the city since earlier in the morning and knew where hybe was located.

But instead of seeking the man out and clearing the air, I'd decided to allow my best friend to grab hold of the reins of my destiny with rubber-gloved hands.

"Yes, I am."

"I may be letting you stay with me rent free but I know how much you eat'so a few bucks toward groceries wouldn't hurt."

Tae wasn't lacking as far as money was concerned but he knew me well and knew I'd be damned if I'd take advantage
of his generosity.

"Plus, long hair on you has always looked hot."
