JUNGKOOK POV

"Jimin, this is Jeon Jungkook."

"Jungkook, Park Jimin." Hobi  announced as we approached
the bar.

How it was possible, I had no idea but Jimin was even more stunning than I'd remembered.

Fair Skin and lips a deep red, Jimin's eyes were a much lighter shade of gray-blue than I'd seen before as they glinted under
the bright overhead lights.

Lord, was he perfect.

Brow furrowed, cheeks turning a delicious pink, he regarded me and I wondered what the hell
he was thinking.

Was he nervous?

Angry?

About to call bullshit because he recognized me or was he about to kill me and my co-conspirators for putting him in this position
in the first place?

I had no idea.

What I did know was that keeping things calm and professional was the way to go.

"Nice to meet you, Mr Park."

Giving the man a broad smile,
I extended my hand.

Jimin blinked a few times before he grasped it and shook, warm touch lingering in my palm
until he finally let go.

"That's my sperm donor's
name."

"Call me Jimin."

"Let's get this over with
before I change my mind."

Within a split second, he was bounding up the stairs located behind the bar two at a time.

Eyes widened and with a sudden look of urgency, Tae flailed his arms about, letting me know
in his own not-so-subtle way
I needed to haul ass.

I glanced at hobi, who smiled and lifted the flap at the far end of the bar, allowing me access.

Finding the will to move, I headed on up, wondering whether I was about to be offered the keys to my future,
or crucified by the most
beautiful man I'd ever met.

By the time I was inside Jimin's office, my nerves were shot
to hell.

Already sitting behind his desk, he waved a hand at a chair opposite.

"Have a seat."

I sank my ass into the fine cushioned leather, swallowing back the bile rising in my gullet as I took in the other man's angered expression.

Oh, shit.

The situation was about to unravel, that much I could tell.

Even though my instinct to run was overwhelming, I remained welded to the spot, unable to even contemplate tearing myself away from his intense scrutiny.

A few beats of silence ensued.

Drawing in a deep breath, he continued to stare, causing me
to shift awkwardly and wring
my sweaty hands together.

If I spoke, I wondered if it would be to my detriment but the atmosphere was so tense, so stifling, I had to say some
thing to break the silence.

"So, hobi tells me you're
looking for a new waiter."

My voice shook as I tried to
keep my wits about me.

A hint of a smile appeared on
his face, then vanished just
as fast.

"Actually, I'm not."

"Oh."

"Guess I was misinformed."

Shoulders dropping, I felt defeated but at the same
time relieved.

Continuing to pretend I'd never seen him before wasn't some thing I felt comfortable with.

"You weren't." he insisted, a weird kind of tension to his voice.

"It's just that you—I—shit."

He scratched his chin, almost looking at a loss and I was
with him there.

Whatever way this was going
to go down, I wanted it over
with before I fell to my knees
and confessed everything.

"I'm not sure what you're
trying to get at."

I gripped the chair's armrests, anticipation burning within me like a flickering flame.

Jimin hesitated, his mouth opening before snapping shut as if he wanted to say something.

I was uncertain if I was happy about that or not.

Frustrated by the fact I found it impossible to get a read on his emotional tenor, I held my breath and waited for Jimin to continue.

"I hate being manipulated,
that's all."

Tone dead serious, he scowled.

I sighed. "Well if it helps, I
got roped into this myself."

"I don't think you understand
the position this puts me in."

He hesitated, then took a
breath, eyes flashing with a
fire before he continued.

"I'm a businessman first and foremost and any decisions I make are for the good of this club, not who wants what done for a friend. hobi and your
little bestie know that."

"And yet, here I am."

I finished, giving him a
tentative smile.

"Yes, here you are." He nodded.

"Look, regardless of how we got here, I want you to know I'm not looking for any special treatment I have a great work ethic, am good with people and I'm
willing to start anywhere."

I hoped the man would at least give me a chance.

"Anywhere?" he asked and I nodded.

"All right."

He sat back in his seat and folded his arms across his chest and wouldn't you know it, the second that lopsided smile of his made its reappearance, my
dick reacted.

"Convince me, Tell me why I should hire you."

His voice switched from abrasive to downright seductive as he posed the question but I knew
I had to remain calm and
focused if I wanted to get through this without showing
him every single perk he'd be privy to if he did.

"Well, I graduated with a degree in economics last year and I
have experience working with a wide range of people with the theater group I was with in—"

"Hold up."

Jimin leaned forward in his seat, a glint of excitement in his eyes.

"You're a math whizz?"

His comment made me smile.

I shrugged.

"Specializing in financial analysis was my plan if the dancing
thing didn't work out."

"Since I've spent most of my time performing and I'm starting at big hit next semester, I have not had any practical experience, but yeah, I know my way
around numbers."

"Huh."

Jimin's expression thoughtful,
he sat there so still and silent I could almost hear the wheels turning in his head.

The longer he took, the more worried I became that he, despite hobi's assurances
was about to give me the
boot but good.
