Viridian looked down at the watch that she'd purchased at the airport. It was nearing 11 at night and Viridian would normally be fast asleep right now. It seemed that she was adjusting to nocturnal life quite easily. The voices were coming closer and closer and Viridian's hands were starting to get clammy. She'd already had a rough introduction with Nadia and she didn't want the other to be like that.
The first one to enter the kitchen went directly for Sophia without saying anything. The woman was average height and had long brown hair that was currently tied up in a bun on top of her head. Her skin was marble smooth and she had very high cheekbones that led to a strong square jaw. When she reached Sophie she bent down a planted a kiss on her lips.
"Viridian this is my mate Daisy." Sophia smiled brightly but her eyes were firmly planted on Daisy.
"It's nice to meet you." She looked away to smile briefly before turning her attention back to Sophia.
The next people to walk into the kitchen after Daisy were people that Viridian already knew. She had met Rivka and Luca when they picked her and Ian up from the airport. The last people that she had to meet came in after them. The first one she noticed was tall and had dark skin the same as Nadia's. He had short hair that looked incredibly soft and beautiful brown eyes that glowed like the rest of them. He had a crisp blue button up shirt and tan pants and looked very much like a businessman instead of a vampire. If it weren't for the spot of blood on his collar, she would have never known.
He walked directly towards her and offered his hand, "Callum, Callum Beaumont. It's nice to meet you."
"It's very nice to meet you as well. You've got a little . . . " Viridian pointed to his collar and he looked down.
"Oh damn. This always happens when I'm wearing my nice shirts." His eyebrows screwed up and he tried to rub the spot clean.
"Its because you're a messy eater." Oliver yelled from across the table.
"Oh ha ha. You couldn't make a clean kill if you tried." He yelled back.
Oliver laughed and the tension that Viridian felt softened and dissipated. It seemed that they were best friends. The girl standing behind Callum peeked her head around his broad shoulders.
"Hello." She waved her hand towards Viridian. "My names Isabel. I'm Luca's sister." Viridian could tell right off the back that she was a sweet girl. Her voice was soft and lilting and made her feel at home. She had a beautiful rich skin tone that matched her brother's and freckles that spanned across her nose. Her hair was varying shades of light brown and even had a few blonde highlights. Her nose was small but straight and she had laugh lines around her smiling mouth.
"It's really nice to meet you all." Viridian was looking at the numerous faces that surrounded her. While she was a little overwhelmed at all of the new things that were happening to her but she was optimistic that she would get used to everything. "I know I don't know you yet and you guys don't know anything about me but I think that you're all really great and I'm happy to be staying here."
"Welcome home Greenie." Oliver winked at her and they all laughed.
"Are you hungry dear?" It was past midnight and the group had gone there separate ways almost an hour ago. Viridian didn't want to mess up their usual routines or keep them from things so she told them she was going to unpack her things. During the day the rest of her belongings had come and she had a lot to do before her room felt like her room again. She was also eager to play her cello again since it had been awhile since she'd last played.
