"God I hate these things." Rivka pulled on her own braid as they pulled up towards the Summit.

"Yea we all do." Callum sighed.

The Summit tended to be a little rowdy and that was putting it lightly. Rivka climbed out of the car and headed towards the cemetery. The Summit, no matter where it was, was always in a cemetery and Rivka hated it. She didn't understand why they had to continue the myth that vampires were all super creepy and lived in creepy places. She knew that living in an old abandoned church didn't help but it was better than this.

She could hear the music now, screaming death metal that blared through each and every headstone. She winced. With her hearing, it was painful to be around loud music, which was one of the reason's why she hated coming.

"Here, I managed to remember to bring these." Callum handed her a box of bright orange earplugs and Rivka smiled back at him.

"Thanks, I always forget and end up with a headache for weeks."

"Come on, let's get this over with." Ivan grimaced as he headed past the wrought iron gates that read Centennial Cemetery.

As soon as they stepped onto the grounds they could feel the energy of the hundreds of vampires. It was almost 2 am but the place was full with night crawlers and they were all partying. Most vampires didn't live in large covens like they did and it made them less civilized. The more they hunted the more they lost their humanity and the more they wanted to be alone than with other vampires. To those vampires, the Summit was a giant party.

Rivka kept her face down and moved around the dancing vamps. She couldn't stand wild vampires and it made her skin itch just being near them.

"Hey there sweetie, come dance with daddy." A hand creeped up to feel her lower back.

Rivka whipped around and pulled a knife to vampires throat, "Touch me again and you won't have a head, daddy." Rivka growled before letting him go, leaving him with a line of blood across his throat.

"Calm down. I'd like to get through this without any blood shed please." Callum slid behind Rivka and laid a hand on her shoulder and guiding her away from the vampire.

"He started it." Rivka mumbled while she slid her knife back in place.

"They always do." Ivan laughed.

They weaved in an out of the partiers until they reached the far side of the cemetery. There along the edge of the fence was a make shift thrown. The vampire world didn't have any kings or queens but they did have a council of elders that set rules and regulations although there weren't many of them. The council was the people that kept tract of vampire numbers and how many lived in any particular area. They were pulled together to keep the vampire world a secret from their food.

The three of them walked up to the thrown and looked up at the person sitting there. It was one of the council members, Jane Lindy, who lived in the area. She was always the council member who was in charge of this Summit, which was unfortunate because she despised Ian, and in turn his coven.

"Well, well, look what we have here: The high and mighty coven of London. How are you guys this month?" Jane was relaxing on her thrown drinking a glass of red wine. While she didn't particularly like taking part in the Summit, she thought it was a supreme waste of time, she did enjoy lording herself over the simplistic creatures dancing in front of her.
