When Viridian woke up she had no idea where she was. She felt like she was in her bed but she couldn't see anything. "Ian." She coughed and croaked out the words.
"I'm right here." Ian opened the door and crossed to the bed quickly. "I'm right here love."
Viridian rubbed her eyes and tried to see clearly, "How long was I asleep?"
"More like knocked out, and it's been about 36 hours now."
"Holy crap." She felt completely rested though. "What happened?"
"The first time that you use your power it takes a lot out of you. The power is pulled out of you by instinct instead of you wanting to use it."
"So that's my power? Setting myself on fire?"
Ian laughed, "Yes but not really. You'll be able to control that fire and place it anywhere on your body that you want to. You don't have to have a full body flame if you don't want to."
"So how do I control it?"
"Practice." Ian smiled. "But stay away from me while you do it. Vampires don't exactly like heat."
"I'll try to remember that." Viridian stretched her arms. "So what's been going on?"
"Nothing much. We've identified what kind of magic was used and I've been testing it to see if I can identify exactly what was used to make it. If I can figure that out then I'll be able to make something to destroy it. We don't need power like that floating around."
"Right. I'm just glad that I could help you guys out. You've all done a lot for me."
"Oh you're one of us now love. There's no going back."
"How's my little fire starter?" Sophia peeked around the bedroom door.
"I'm doing just fine, come in please!" she sat up and beckoned for Sophia to come closer.
"Well it's not just me. You've got some guests." Sophia laughed as she stepped aside and everyone filed in.
"Wow I love what you've done with the place." Isabel said as she sat on the end of the bed.
"Thanks. I don't think it's quite done yet but it's definitely an improvement."
"Hey what have I told you about knocking my castle?" Ian poked her in the stomach.
"I just think it's great that you've finally found your power. It means we're like the most awesome coven of vampires to ever live, or not live." Oliver laughed.
"He's got that right. There's never been another coven where every single vampire has an ability." Ivan mentioned. He was standing in the corner but he had a smile on his face, "it's good to see you awake. Last time I saw you, you were falling into Ian's arms."
"Oh stop being dramatic." Ian laughed.
"It was pretty dramatic Ian," Rivka laughed.
Viridian laughed as well, "I'm glad I could give you guys some entertainment."
"Oh yea, you running into the church and then bursting into flames? It was like a sci-fi movie." Evangeline laughed. "I'm glad you're feeling better."
"We all are." Sophia added.
All Viridian could do was smile, "Thanks guys. Hopefully it means the end of all of our problems."
"Oh don't say that." Oliver laughed, "We'll have twenty more by the end of the week."
The end of the week came and went and it seemed that life was finally getting back to normal, as normal as it could ever get for Viridian. She played with Phoenix and Shadow and even got to meet this ocelot that everyone had been talking about. He was a giant cat that liked to sit in your lap and crush your legs with his weight. She loved her life in London and it could only get better from here.
Sophia had even made a large breakfast for them all to celebrate Viridian getting her powers. There had been mountains of food and they finished it quickly. No body turned down food that Sophia had made.
They were all sitting in the living room, listening to Luca, Isabel, and Evangeline play when there was a loud banging in the foyer. Ian was the first to move towards the front door and when he got there he found it wide open.
"Look what we have here?" Jane Lindy walked through the front door with two armed guards standing behind her. "I thought the inside of this place would be cool."
As Viridian and the other filed into the foyer Ian asked, "What are you doing here Jane?" His voice was colder than Viridian had ever heard it.
"Awh you don't want me here? But you're little lapdog said I could come by?" Jane smiled as Rivka growled. "Heel girl." She smirked, "I'm just here for what's mine. Search the place."
Armed guards streamed into the building, more than anyone could count. They started filing into every single room and looking for the vial. Ian started to move when Jane stopped him. "Nope, not today little boy wonder." Jane flicked her fingers and Ian flew back, hitting his back against the staircase.
"Ian." Viridian yelled as he groaned.
"Oh not so fast lover girl. He'll be fine. Although you're a new face, what's your name?" Viridian stood tall and didn't say a word. She didn't this woman but she'd just hurt Ian, which meant that she was no good in Viridian's book.
"Oh so you're going to be brave huh?" Jane held up her hands in surrender, "That's fine. I've got friends to do my dirty work for me." Through the door walked two women, a witch and a gypsy.
"So this is the powerful coven." The witch sneered. "They don't look like much to me."
"Oh I'll show you what I look like." Rivka pulled a knife from boot and hurled it towards the witches head.
The knife stopped in mid air and the witch laughed, "I don't think so little girl. I'm older than you. You might have stopped me the first time but not this time around. I've learned from my mistakes." The knife dropped and the witch whispered a spell before each and every one of them fell to the ground clutching their heads.
"What are you doing?" Viridian screamed. It was pain that she'd never felt before.
"Oh just putting pressure on your frontal lobe, nothing to worry about. That is if you want to ever speak again." The witch laughed.
"We found it." One of the mean walked up to Jane and handed her the vial full of red liquid.
"Good job boys, let's go home." Jane winked and walked out of the church with the other two women following her.
As soon as the witch left, Viridian could feel again. She had a raging headache but the searing pain was gone. "Theirs is no way we're letting her get away with this." She righted herself and painstakingly walked towards Ian who was leaning against the railing. "How are you doing?"
"My back is healing as we speak. I'll be fine. We need to go after her. Rivka." Ian yelled her name and she pulled herself off the ground to stand near him.
"What do you need?"
"Every vampire killing weapon you've got. She's not gonna make it." Ian answered with fire in his eyes.
Rivka winked before running down the hallway towards her armory. "Follow me."
The group followed her down the hall and filed into the armory. "Ok I need everyone to grab a knife and a gun and then head towards me for your wooden bullets." In twenty minuets the whole coven was armed and ready to go.
Rivka smirked before leading the way out of the house, "Let's get this bitch."
