"Viridian, I swear to God if you don't get your ass in here I'm going to leave you out there till you burn up." Viridian sighed as she heard Ian's voice travel through the halls of the old church. Viridian was sitting on the front steps, soaking in the morning light, after drinking some tea and watching the sunrise.
"I'm coming." She whispered. She closed the door tightly behind her and made sure all the curtains were closed before she made her way to Ian's room. "I don't understand why you're so grumpy about this."
"Because I don't want you getting hurt." Ian answered for the hundredth time. He didn't like when Viridian stayed out too early and the summer sun was coming out earlier and earlier. He didn't want to loose her.
"But I'm not! See!" Viridian jumped into his lap. "The sun doesn't hurt me."
"Viridian what are you talking about? You're burning up!" Ian ran his hands along her skin, which was usually cold.
"I feel fine."
"You feel like you have a temperature."
"Can vampires even get sick?"
"No. But something is definitely wrong here."
"How can it be wrong? It feels amazing!"
"Viridian this isn't what vampires are supposed to feel like." Ian was worried about her and her lax attitude about the whole thing was showing how young she really was.
"Sweetheart, I'm ok. I promise. I would never put myself in danger because I liked it." Viridian promised. "Besides, I thought you said that this was my thing."
"I said this might be your thing. I've never seen this before and I don't know how it's going to manifest. But I also don't want you to get killed in the process of finding out."
"Ok but can you at least promise to do some research for me?" Viridian begged him.
"As long as you promise not to stay outside longer than half an hour."
Viridian stared him down, hoping that he would step down. She'd managed to stay outside for hours on end during the day now and she didn't want to give that up. However, she really wanted to know if she was going to have a power or not. After seconds of not wavering, she caved. "Ok fine. No longer than half an hour and you have to find out if I have special abilities or not."
Ian smiled before kissing her, "Yes ma'am.
She sighed unhappily before saying, "You need a bed." She was looking at Ian's coffin and wondering how she was ever going to sleep with him again. She'd thoroughly enjoyed it and it had been a good nights sleep.
"Why do you say that love?" He was smoothing her hair back behind her ears. Ian loved playing in her hair and his fingers always seemed to find their way there.
"Because I want to cuddle with you and I can't do that in a coffin."
"You'd be surprised what you can do in a coffin love." Ian laughed.
"Oh really? And I guess you've had experience in the matter?" Viridian's eyebrow was raised and her arms wee crossed over her chest.
"Well I won't lie to you. I've had experience but not in that coffin. That one is fairly knew."
"It better be or you can kiss your chances of coffin sex goodbye." She smirked.
Ian busted out laughing before pulling her in for a kiss, "Good thing that was a least on the menu."
