The Eclipse Princess

Chapter fifteen

            Training felt like the longest and most annoying thing ever to Jovian. She kept getting frustrated with herself and her abilities. Anytime she got close to a break through something would happen and she would lose her place in Annika’s head and get dizzy, getting thrown out of Annika’s head each time. 

                         “Dammit!” Jovian shouted last time she got thrown out of Annika’s head. 

             “It is okay, maybe you should get some rest! Annika said quickly. 

             “No way! I need to be ready to help Romina. 

             “You can't do that if you're tired and  weak.” Annika said more sternly now. 

             “But…” Jovian said 

             “No Buts, bed now before I have to pick you up and carry you there myself.” Annika said pointing towards her room. 

        Jovian groaned at Annika but deep down she knew that Annika was right and that she needed to be at her full strength to do this. At the same time though she hated the thought of what she was going through and what she saw. Thinking if she stopped Romina this wouldn't be happening. 

        Jovian headed down the hall to Romina’s room which she hasn’t left since she got taken. Jovian walks in and pulls some of the pj’s from her closet and puts them on admiring how they still have her cedar wood smell with a hint of sage still on them making her feel safe and connected to her still somehow just a little bit. After she headed to the bed and layed in her spot looking at Romina’s side until she dozed off to sleep. 

       Meanwhile back at the castle the queen and king were preparing to put the queen inside of Romina’s head. Along with getting the other spell ready to erase Roman's mind so they can take her power on the eclipse. The king headed down to the chamber  to make sure she was still asleep along with the queen by his side. 

                “It is go time!” Vytis says as he looks at Orleen

                “When I make her drink this and I drink it as well I will be connected to Romina and her mind making me fall asleep with her,” Orleen says. 

                “What if there is trouble?” The king said 

                “You will use this to wake me up, in the process it will wake her up too.” The queen said, giving him a liquid substance. 

                “Okay, darling.” He says. 

                “What information am I suppose to be looking for?” Orleen asks. 

                “Anything about where she has been, her friends, their plans for her birthday and if they plan to come to save her.” The king responds. 

      With that the queen gives him a small nod back and heads over to Romina with the spell. Carefully she opens her mouth pouring half the spell into her mouth and the rest into hers. Soon after the queen dozes off to sleep with Romina waking up inside of her head in the middle of a field full of flowers. 

      She walks around a little bit and soon sees Romina, Jovian and Annika running around and laying in the patches of flowers looking up at the clouds and trying to make shapes from them. They stay there for a while just pointing and laughing at the sky. The queen quietly walks over to get a closer view. 

                    “That one looks like a deer!” Annika says pointing at a big patch of cloud above them with two smaller clouds on top of it. 

                “Nah, that is totally a bear.” Romina said with a small giggle. 

                “You guys are both wrong, that's the three of us!” Jovian says looking at them both now with a smile on her face. 

               “Hmmm I can see that.” Annika says, looking at the sky again.

               “Me too! Romina says before they all look back up and stare with smiles on their face in silence. 

    The queen couldn't help but admire how happy her Romina was and it made her smile thinking of when Romina was little and they would go pick flowers outside to take to her dad after a long day of work. She would always pick more than she could carry, even carrying some in her mouth sometimes making her giggle at little Romina. Getting distracted she knew she had to go back to small Romina, when she still lived with them so she could get info out more easily. 

    At that time Romina would be little enough to tell her mom everything and anything she needed. It was full proof but she just needed to thing of the right destination. Soon after she thought of it and was teleported there, the whole scenery and background changed all around her until she was there making cookies with Romina in the kitchen. 

               “Hello mommy!” Little Romina said, running up to her and giving her a hug almost making her cry. 

               “Hello my dear, ready to make cookies?”

                “Of course! Double chocolate chip!” Romina said, jumping around in excitement.

        For some reason the background was glitching a little bit and it felt like someone else was trying to come into Romina’s mind from the outside but the queen ignored it. Agreeing to make double chocolate chips with Romina and helped her get all the ingredients. When they got all the ingredients they started to make the cookies. 

                       “Have you been on any fun adventures?” The queen asked, starting to try to get information. 

                       “Just in the woods with my friends!” Romina said mixing all the dry ingredients together. 
         
                       “What fun! What friends, my little one?” The queen asked. 

                       “Mommy you know this! It is Annika and Jovian!” Romina said, laughing at her mom. 

                       “Of course I do darling, Are they coming over anytime soon?” The queen asked. 

       She didn't get a response though and everything freezes around her for a moment like the connection was getting interrupted until it all went back to the same way before the next question was asked. She doesn’t know that she is now being watched by Jovian who was able to dream her way into Romina’s mind when she was asleep without her knowing it. The memory unfreezed now and it started to play again. 

               “Mommy you know this! It is Annika and Jovian!” Romina said again, laughing at her mom. 

               “Of course I do darling, Are they coming over anytime soon?” The queen repeated this time getting an answer but before it was answered the connection ended. 

    Jovian was able to kick the queen out of the dream and doing so kicked her out of the spell and Rominas mind. Jovian stared at the young Jovian and smiled and how cute she used to be before waking up and running to tell the others what just happened. 

    At the same time the queen wakes up in a panic about almost getting the answer but was cut short and they didn't have enough for her to go back in. She figures though that with the second spell even if they do show up Romina won’t be no more and they will fall right into a trap. Soon Romina will be under their control and it will be too late.
