Emilia POV

With a small sigh I glanced at the mirror to make sure I didn't look to bad. I wore the dress I had picked out at the store with Summer. My hair was down and didn't look to bad. Surprisingly, I actually looked pretty good. I walked over to my closet where my black skater shoes were. I sighed longingly, wanting to wear them instead of any fancy shoes.

"You can wear them if you want." I spun around and saw Aiden. He looked at me in amazement then quickly covered it with a smirk. "I never thought that I'd live to see the day Emilia Earnheart wears a dress."

I rolled my eyes. "I never thought that I'd live to see the day Aiden Earnheart wins an academic award. Are you sure they didn't make a mistake?"

"Very funny." He pretended to be angry but in the end, his smile won. He stared at me for a couple of seconds then engulfed me in a hug. "I'm glad that we made up."

"Me to." I breathed out. I didn't notice till know just how much I've really missed his hugs.

"And if Aunt Lily and Uncle Jack ever treat you like I did, make sure you yell at them too." I smiled at the thought.

"So everyday?"

"If that's what it takes." We broke apart and laughed. Once we were done I quickly put on my skater shoes instead of flats or high heels. Those would have been torture.

As soon as I had the shoes on we left my room and went downstairs. Right when I hit the bottom step Summer looked me up and down, then her look of praise turned into a glare. Obviously she was not happy about my choice of shoes.

"Emilia, what happened to your shoes?" She asked.

"Ask Aiden." I told her. Her eyes widened in anger. Quickly I left the room and went into the living room. Silently I grabbed my phone and started recording their fight, knowing that Aiden would look weak.

"Aiden James Earnheart." Summer tried to say calmly, but the anger showed. "What did you do with her shoes?"

"N-N-Nothing. I just t-told her that she could w-wear her skater shoes."

"Why would you do that?!"

"Because s-she…can't w-w-walk in heels."

"I got her a pair of flats!"

"T-Those would h-h-have…been u-uncomfortable."

Summer smiled sweetly at him, all anger gone from her face. "I'm glad that you thought of her before her looks. That's really nice of you Aiden." She gave him a peck on the cheek and walked out the front door.

Aiden just stood there, frozen to the spot with confusion. "Come on Mr. Stutter, we got an award ceremony to go to."

He followed me, still in shock. He didn't even yell at me about the 'Mr. Stutter' part, which just proves that he is lovesick. Just what I need, a lovesick cousin.

This means that he won't be able to pay attention to me while I plan out his revenge.

Lucas POV

I stared at the ground, remembering how Emi would stare out the window. I can't believe it's been a year and I still haven't seen her. I've even went around Los Angeles searching for her. Nobody knows how desperate I've been to see her and explain to her everything that happened.

What if I never see her again?

No! Don't think like that Lucas!

But how could I not think like that? Any hope that I've had of seeing her has faded. Something inside me though, won't let me believe that I've lost her forever.
