Lucas POV
I stood outside on balcony, looking out towards the beach. The sun has been up for only an hour or so. My hands were on the railing as I leaned up against it. I tightened my grip, then loosened it, then tightened it again. I did this for five minutes, until I could think straight again.
A faint knock on my door brought me to attention. I walked out from the balcony and to my room. I opened my door and Mom was standing there. She looked me up and down before returning to my gaze. She shook her head in disappointment.
"You do know that you have a signing with fans today right?" She asked me. Her tone clearly showed that she was annoyed. I shook my head, which got me another disappointed look. "Then get ready, now."
"Mom, I have much more important things to do right now." I told her. Her looked changed from disappointed to anger.
"It better not have anything to do with that girl."
"No it doesn't, its about...uhh..." I quickly came up with an excuse that she'd buy. "A song, its about a song."
"Oh, well in that case you can stay here. I'll just tell everybody that you got sick. One thing's for sure though, you're going to your rehearsal."
"I'll be there." I replied. She walked away and I shut my door. I leaned up against it and sighed.
That was a close one.
I walked back out to the balcony and went back to the position I was in. I carefully went through all of the things Emi and I did. I tried really hard not to go past any little detail, anything that she did, anything that she said.
I remembered what happened with the little girl, but thought little of it. I remembered that she almost said someone's name, but it didn't ring a bell. Her parents blame her for it to. She's just so careful, its like she thinks everything through one hundred times before she says it.
If her parents blame her for it, then her cousin should know. He should tell me, or I should only hope.
I was dressed, showered, and clean. I put on my shoes, grabbed my leather jacket and practically ran out of my room. I jogged to the elevator and went down to the level Emilia and her family was staying on. I hesitated at the door, nervous that Emilia could answer it. I quickly knocked before I could stop myself.
I waited a minute before Emi's cousin Aiden opened the door. He looked confused that I was there, then he shrugged his shoulders. "She's not here Lucas." He said.
"I actually...umm...came here to talk to you." I replied. Now he looked even more confused.
"Me? What for?"
"I want to know about Emilia." He stepped to the side and opened the door wider. I walked in and he led me to the living room. I leaned up against one of the walls while Aiden sat down on the couch. I just now realized that he had a banana in his hand.
Mmm, bananas sound good right now.
"So, start with the questions." Aiden told me.
"What's she hiding?" I asked. He looked at me then shook his head.
"I can't tell you that, I can only beat around the bush."
"Why?"
"It's her secret to tell, not mine." I nodded and rethought my questions.
"Is she hiding something?"
"Yes." Aiden replied.
"Is it big?"
