Emilia POV
I headed back to my room. I could feel Lucas's eyes on me, but I didn't dare turn around. That would just make it awkward, and believe me, I don't want awkward.
I crossed the hall to make it look like I came out of the elevator. I walked back to the room, immediately back in my regular mood. I saw my father on the couch with a bag of potato chips watching some Sci-Fi movie. He didn't look up at me, and I knew that he had no intention of doing so.
So I decided I would just have to make him look at me. "You should really stop watching Sci-Fi, it'll fill your head up with complete bullshit." I said to him. He looked up at me in amazement and horror.
"I don't care."
"Well you should."
"And since when have you started swearing?" He asked. He set down the potato chips, muted the television, and turned so he could look at me.
"I've been swearing, you and mom just never took the time to notice."
"You shouldn't swear. There are other words in the dictionary that you can use beside those."
"I can swear if I want to." I replied.
"Not if you live under my roof."
"There's no roof! It's just you and mom waiting to kick me out!" I shouted, realizing that when I said them, I meant them for a figure of speech, but then knew that they meant more then that.
"Now hold it right there!"
"No!" I shouted. "You blame me for everything! You heard Mom! She shouted at me that it was all my fault! I tried to prevent it, both of you know that."
"We do know that!" He shouted back, suddenly standing up. "She didn't mean it though. It was a random outburst."
"Nobody says that as a random outburst and looks at me with that much hatred Dad, if I'm still allowed to call you that." I replied. I spun around on my heel and ran straight out the door. I skipped the elevator and ran for the stairs.
I took the stairs two at a time, not wanting him to catch up if he was following. I fell a few times, but nothing but a stair or two. I burst through the door and ran out of the lobby. I heard footsteps following me. Either it was Aiden, Dad, or paparazzi that hadn't seen the magazines yet.
I ran as fast as I could at a full sprint. I heard skateboards behind me, so it was probably just some random kids. I took a sharp corner. I heard some swearing and then the skateboards got closer. I glanced behind me, but quickly looked back in front before I could see their faces. A box was lying in the middle of the alley. I tried to side step it, but it nicked my knee. I fell down, hitting the pavement hard. I rolled over twice before I could stop myself. I was breathing heavy, trying to regain the breath that I lost when I hit the ground, knocking the air out of me.
I put my hands on the ground, getting ready to push myself up. A hand touched my elbow. I looked over and saw it was Aiden. He wore a look of concern and confusion. I shook him off and got up. I glared at him, after all, he is the one to blame for my fall.
"What happened? Why were you running?" He asked. I looked over his shoulder and saw Wesley and Ragnar. I looked back over at Aiden, not wanting to see their expressions.
"Reasons." I replied. I made sure to show no emotion and to hold no emotion in my voice.
"Was it Lucas?"
"No."
"Then who was it?"
"Dad." I told him.
