Ch.43

It's been a while since the day the truth came out. I had explained the truth about what had happened to my family and after taking truth serum, everyone tried to accept what had happened, even though it was difficult for most of them to believe. George and I had moved into the same house finally and the joke store was soon up and running once again.

After all the terror that had happened, Elena and Sal eventually became engaged while everyone else tried to adapt to their new lives. Those people trying to adapt included me. It was hard for me to get past everything that had happened, but through the help of the people I now called my family, everything seemed to have gone okay. So okay that after Hogwarts was built back up and Professor McGonagall became headmaster, she ended up offering me the spot as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

So as I stood here at the mirror looking at myself in the wedding gown, with my hair up in a curly bun, I realized that I had made it through all the moments I thought would be the end of me. I had finally found the place I was supposed to be and everything seemed to make sense now.

“You look beautiful,” I turned and saw Mrs. Weasley standing there, bringing a small smile to my face.

“Thanks, Molly.”

“Here, I think you should have this as your something old,” she placed a small brooch in my hair, her eyes tearing up. “I just want to thank you for everything you've done for this family. You have no idea how much this means to me and how much I owe you.”

“You don't owe me anything. You guys are the people that accepted me and I couldn't be happier considering where I am now.”

“I'm glad to have as a part of our family,” she pulled me into a tight hug.

A knock at the door came and Mrs. Weasley opened it quickly, allowing the girls to file into the room. Elena was of course my maid of honor, while my other bridesmaids were Ginny, Hermione, Angie and Fleur.

Another knock soon echoed on the door and when it was opened I was thrilled to see Sirius there. He offered to walk me down the aisle, something that I eagerly accepted.

“You really do remind me of your mother,” he grasped my hand, twirling me so he could look at me fully. “You luck absolutely stunning, George is a lucky lad,” he told me with a wide smile.

“Thanks Sirius.” He kissed my cheek and hugged me close to him.

Later on I stood in front of George on the alter, happy to have finally made it here.

“Do you George Weasley take Abigail Riddle as your wife?”

“I Do,” George said with a wide smile on his face, slipping the ring onto my hand and lightly squeezing it.

“Do you Abigail Riddle take George Weasley as your husband?”

“I Do,” I told him with a matching grin, placing the ring on his ring finger.

“Then I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride.”

“About time,” George said, his usual smirk appearing on his lips as he slammed his lips onto mine and cheers filled the air.

“Yeah, it's definitely about time,” I mumbled as he pulled away and we walked back down the aisle. I could spot familiar faces in the crowd of people. I had wanted a small wedding with close friends and family, but Mrs. Weasley said that this wedding was a sign that peace was coming and was a way to show that everything that had happened was finally over.

At this point a lot of people thought that everything was finally over. But even though a lot of people saw this as the end, I knew that it wasn't. We were all just moving on into the next chapter of our lives, one that would be just as chaotic as this one, although hopefully this one would have less war. Besides, you never know what to expect, and I would know that better than anyone.

“I love you, Mrs. Abigail Weasley.”

“I love you too, Mr. George Weasley.”
