Ch.28

It had already been a few days here and I was already having to step in and prevent any permanent damage that could happen. In a way the students seemed to realize I was protecting them, but they didn't trust me yet and I could understand that in a way.

So far no one had realized that Ginny and I were talking and that we got along. So far no one here had realized that I was actually engaged, they just thought I wore this ring all time for no reason.

I was walking down the hallway, not really doing anything. To be honest, it still felt weird to be here.

I was dressed in a slightly baggy, blush colored shirt with a black cross on the front. I had put on black skinny jeans, nude colored heels, and a set of cream colored pearl and crystal bracelets.

I was walking outside of the Dark Arts class when I heard a crash and faint yelling. I snapped into action and flung open the door, walking into the room quickly. In front of me Amycus, his wand pointed straight at Neville, who looked horrified. All the students were frozen in place as I also entered the room.

My wand was in my hand and pointed straight at Amycus before he could move.

“What do you think you are doing Mr. Carrow?” I walked toward him, but he didn't even look toward me and instead stared straight at Neville.

“I am punishing a student for bad behavior.” It seemed as if no one was moving in the room.

“I suggest you put the wand down Mr. Carrow, we wouldn't want anything bad to happen now would we.”

“I should be allowed to punish my students for disrespecting me!” he said, his wand still digging into Neville's neck.

“Not if I say you can't!”

“I don't care, I can if I want to!” he whipped around at me, his wand out and pointed directly at me. Fear appeared in his eyes as he realized what had just happened. The students seemed to realize it as well because I could hear a sharp intake of breath from around the room.

Before he could say anything, he was disarmed, tossed into the wall and tied up, my own wand digging into his face.

“Would you like to repeat that Amycus?”

“No, no princess.”

“I didn't think so. If you draw your wand on another student, not only will you be punished, but so will your sister Alecto.” I whipped around and began to walk toward the door. “Remember Amycus, I'm not the only one that will punish you if you refuse my commands.”

“Yes, of course.” his voice was shaky, but he cleared it so it would go back to normal.

I turned back to Neville, who was standing there with a conflicted expression on his face. We used to be friends and I knew that was flashing through his mind. Instead of continuing to walk out the door, I walked over to him. This quieted the room even more. The expression on his face softened as I walked up to him.

“I'm so sorry, for everything,” I said, automatically hugging him. He stiffened at first, but hugged me back.

“Harry always said you were on our side. He was telling the truth wasn't he. This whole time you were helping Dumbledore and were protecting us.”

“Yeah, this whole time and I'm not going to let you guys down.”

“I'm guessing this ring is an engagement ring as well.” I blushed slightly as I pulled away and messed with the ring.

“You and George have been together this whole time, that's who you're engaged to!” he said as he made the connection.

“Yeah, we were. If you have any problems, just tell me and I'll take care of it all.” I smiled at him once more before turning and walking out the door completely. Right before I shut the door I turned to Amycus. “You're warned, I wouldn't want any harm to come upon you Mr. Carrow.” the door shut with a thud and I waited outside for a little while so I could make sure that Amycus didn't harm another student.

Once I was sure he was not going to do anything, at least not today, I continued my walk around the school.

“You feel out of place here don't you?” someone said from behind me, causing me to jump and turn around. I couldn't help but let out a loud giggle and jumping onto him when I realized it was George.

“What in the world are you doing here?” I said, burying my head in his chest and refusing to let go.

“I missed you, besides, did you really think I would let you leave me for very long.”

“No, I missed you too.”

“I know, I can tell.” he said, laughing as I refused to pull away.

“Shut up,” I mumbled, smiling as the smell of his usual aftershave hit me.

“Well, I was hoping we could have a picnic here like the old times.”

“I would love to,” I mumbled, his lips quickly capturing my own. The minute they did they students began to change classes. When we pulled away I noticed that there was a small crowd around us, the students watching us in shock.

“This is kind of creepy,” he whispered to me glancing around as Ginny ran over to us and hugged George.

“What are you doing here?” she whispered.

“Making sure you're safe, and visiting Abby of course.”

“I can see that,” she said crossing her arms as the students were ushered on. “By the way, what you did for Neville was great, people are already talking about it,” she gave George another hug and even gave me one, which I was surprised about considering we were at school.

After she ran off with the others George turned back to me. “Would you care to join me for lunch?”

“I would love to,” I said, the two of us heading for the kitchen to grab the food.

We wandered down to the kitchen, where the elves handed us a picnic basket as if they already knew why we were there. As soon as we got the basket we went searching for the room of requirement, which took a little while to find.

“Here we are,” he said as a door appeared in front of us. He threw open the door and we walked into the room.

“It's amazing,” I said as he led me into the room. Everything had been changed to look as if we were on a hill filled with flowers and a large tree in the center of the room. Not only this, but the clouds above us seemed to be forming into different shapes.

We sat underneath the tree, snacking on the food and guessing what shapes the clouds were forming.

“When will you have to leave?” I asked, leaning against his shoulder.

“Later today, but we'll never be too far away from each other.” he told me. “I'm glad you're here to take care of them all though.”

“I am too, I don't know what I would do if I knew I could have helped prevent a horrible thing from happening to them all.”
