Ch.5
I woke up early the next morning so that I could go to my house to get my clothes. I changed into a purple a –line dress, black satin ankle boots, and black dusted hoop earrings. I added a black fedora and some lipstick.
I disapparated back to the apartment and was surprised to see George up, dressed and making breakfast.
“Why are you up so early?” I asked, sitting down on one of the stools in front of him.
“I’m a little anxious about today, so I decided to do something that would keep my mind off it.”
“Why would you be anxious? You’re never like this.” I said, watching his curiously.
“I’m just a little nervous to tell my mum that everything she dreamed of me becoming just isn’t going to happen. Every mum has an idea of what they wanted their kid to become and what my mum wanted me to be isn’t something I’ll ever be able to do.”
I walked over to him, giving him a hug. “She just wants you to be happy with how your life ends up. Do you think she was happy about Charlie taking care of dragons and putting himself in all the danger? Not at first, but she saw how happy he was doing that. When she sees how much this matter, she won’t be able to get too angry at you.”
“You better be right.” Fred said entering the room.
“Why do you have to go and ruin every moment we have?” George asked, his eyebrows rose playfully as he looked at his twin.
“It’s my job. I’m your twin, what did you expect?” he smiled before sitting down on one of the couches. “What’s for breakfast?”
I sighed before starting to help George by toasting some bread and placing it onto the plates with the eggs.
“Here you go, your majesty!” I said sarcastically, handing Fred his plate of food.
“Why thank you madam,” he took it with a pleased look on his face.
“Oh, whatever,” I rolled my eyes and went over to the breakfast bar to eat next to George. “We should leave soon.” I said once I was finished.
“Yep,” George said, heading over to our room to get something. He came out with a box. “I made sure to buy something for her when we first decided that we would leave. I spent some of the money we earned this year on a new robe for her. She hasn’t had a new one for a while now.”
“And hopefully this gets us on her good side until we tell her why we’re not at school.” I watched as they put a bow on the box.
“Well at least you thought of what to do before now. At least it shows you thought about everything before you made your decision.” I told them, now waving my wand to quickly bake a batch of cookies. “Plus food is a really good way to go when you’re trying to get on someone’s good side.” Once they were finished I put them all on one of the china plates. “Are we ready to go?”
“Ready as we’ll ever be!” they said at the same time. George motioned me over and they both grabbed onto me as we disapparated.
We landed just a little ways from the Weasley home. We began walking towards that house, though I could tell the twins were a little hesitant. After all, no one wants to face the wrath of Mrs. Weasley.
“You guys just have to take a deep breath and everything will be okay.” I walked up to the door first, knocking lightly on the door. It was opened in record time and I was pulled into a tight hug.
“Abby! It’s so good to see you. Why didn’t you tell me you were coming, I would have made some breakfast for you!”
“No, no, I brought you these by the way.” I handed her the plate of cookies.
“Why thank you….” her smile disappeared as she looked behind me. “Why aren’t you two at school?”
I turned around and noticed that they were just standing there, trying to act like there was nothing wrong at all. I sighed before trying back to Mrs. Weasley.
“Can we come in?”
“Of course,” she watched us suspiciously as she led us into the seating room. “Do you want anything to drink or eat?”
“No, we’re fine, we ate before we came.” We all fell into silence, no one sure what to say.
“Um, mum, we just have a few things to tell you.” Fred said mysteriously.
“Please don’t tell me you’re pregnant,” Mrs. Weasley said, directing her attention to me. I couldn’t help by blush bright red from even the thought of that.
“No, of course not!” I exclaimed, hoping that the others would say something soon because I couldn’t take being stared at like this.
“Actually, we just need to tell you that Umbridge took over the school.” Said George.
“I figured that out a while ago when it came out in the observer. Now why are you both here?”
“George and I couldn’t take everyone being hurt and everything going on this year, so we kind of quit and got expelled.” Fred said quickly.
“It’s just that we already know what we want to do with our lives, so we’re going to be opening up our shop. We’ve planned this forever and this is our chance to show everyone that this is what we can do with our lives. I’ve finally been able to realize what’s important in my life and I’m going to take a stand for what I believe in and so is Fred,” George told her.
I noticed that her eyes had started to water. She jumped up and pulled the twins into a huge hug.
“You’ve both grown up so much.” She then turned to me and pulled me into a hug, whispering in my ear. “You better take care of them; they’ll need some help along the way. Besides, you’re already part of our family.”
“Thanks, that means a lot and don’t worry, I’ll look after them.” I gave her a small smile as she released me.
“Now can the three of you leave or do you want to help me with the chores?” she asked. George, Fred and I all started for the door. “Just remember to come visit next weekend!” she shouted after us as we all disapparated back to the shop.
