your pov | trying to get back into the water |
the water is at my ankles as i listen to jake tell me how the water won't damage anything, it'll sting but eventually should feel good.
"okay, thank you." i smile.
i'm in the middle of the boys again.
"wow i've never had a slumber like that." neteyam jokes.
he's so funny.
"you guys kept me really warm honestly." i giggle.
we walk in further and further, suddenly i'm to my waist again. grabbing onto lo'ak.
i'm scared, that pain was so intense. i turn around for a second, i don't know why. maybe looking for reassurance. jake stands at the sand watching us. okay, okay. i'm okay.
i turn back around grabbing onto lo'aks arm. my body tensing up.
"relax, release the tension. breathe." he reminds me in my ear.
i can see neteyam scanning me up and down, then swimming out in front of me. smiling.
i keep walking in, trying to relax.
i the water hits me, and my back. it hurts but, i knew what i was in for.
neteyam and lo'ak seem to be holding their breath.

it's okay. the pain will subside.
i eventually can't feel the floor.
wait, what do i do now?
i look towards lo'ak for safety, he's a little bit taller than me. i'm seven feet and he's eight and a half. he whips me towards him. my chest on his, our stomachs breathing together.
"you don't know how to swim?" our faces inches apart.
i look up at him.
"no, no. i never had to know." i felt embarrassed.
"copy what i do!" neteyam starts kick his feet, keeping him afloat. so i do the same. lo'ak watching me intensely. after about an hour i got the hang of it.

diving is hard, so the boys let me swim around and play after about an hour.
"look at our little fish!" neytiri says to jake.
i swim around with neteyam and lo'ak. we hid behind rocks, swim through the seaweed.

it feels like i am flying through the water.
"dinner!" we hear kiri call from above the water.
we all get out.

dinner was lovely, it truly was. hearing everyone laugh and enjoy one another is so special. after while i went back to the hut, i was so tired from today. so much happened. but before that i had to say good night.

i hug kiri and kiss tuk goodnight. neteyam and lo'ak were already in the hut.
walking in i see them talking. immediately going to my bed.
"going to bed so early?" lo'ak says walking over to me.
there's a blanket over me already, i'm laying down, my back is to my bed. when he comes to sit down next to me. i sit up on my forearms. his hand comes into contact with my lower region. he instantly puts his hand on the other side of my hip apologizing.
"oh no no, it was an accident."

it was like he hit a thousand nerves on me. it felt so, wonderful.
neteyam is watching closely as he lays on the bed.
"no funny business, lo'ak." his stern voice says.
"it was an accident." he turns back to me.
smiling and looking away awkwardly he kisses me on the forehead.
"goodnight."

"goodnight, cutie. lo'ak get back over here."

it's quiet, it's dark, it's late. i've been pretending to be asleep for a while, but now i think i'm safe.
