In Akira's mind there were two things.

Hunger and fear.

She left the public pool in Shibuya taking indefinite steps that made her sway back and forth as if she were on a tightrope, perhaps the feeling of vertigo still dominated her, as if she was still on that diving board, far away from the safety of firm ground. And yet, even though she was sure she would die right there because Chishiya's macabre smile never caused her security, the boy was quite responsive, answering questions eagerly and boldly and helping her when she was unable to answer any, and if by chance the gardener lost her cool he would catch her attention asking her to focus on him and his eyes.

On her addictive gray eyes, which seemed to attract nothing but trouble and irony.Among those ironies, the illogical but blind trust Akira gave the white-haired boy, when -still stunned by the game- she decided to follow him through the abandoned classrooms of Tokyo, swearing that he might know a safe place with people and food.Oh...sweet food.

Hunger had Akira's skin three shades paler than it already was, plus her adrenaline-based strength was already starting to run out and after taking a couple more steps behind Chishiya's white figure, Akira fainted.

The lights were pointed directly in her face and she knew it was her turn before the robotic voice even said her name

"Player 78945 Akira Chaotome.

what is the most dangerous element in the periodic table?"

The question entered her brain but she herself was not able to answer right away, the heat of the spotlight on her and the stares of the other players in the room gave her the impression that she was burning alive. She was crouched down with her hands clinging even with her fingernails to the cement trampoline which was almost like a declaration of death.

"what is the most dangerous element in the periodic table?

The voice repeated the question making her react to a lesser extent, Akira's Blue head moved down and immediately regretted it, the depth of that pool lacking water was equal to that of a well of perhaps 30 meters of fall that would undoubtedly kill you instantly. He also discovered the bodies of the people who had already been interviewed by death. Their bodies from that height looked like simple red blobs that got bigger and bigger and bigger.
