Shuntaro Chishiya was a strange person, everyone in that small condominium knew it. His white dyed hair, always long and covered by the hood of one of his white jackets, his wide pants of light and soft fabric (evidently expensive) always in gray or black, and his strange way of walking made him stand out among all the other young people in the place. From the amount of white jackets he had one could assume that he was very fond of them, but in reality from a person like Shuntaro it was hard to assume anything. From time to time he would be seen leaving his apartment walking hunched over and silently to the lockers where the local mail was left. Some female neighbors had tried to engage him in conversation, however, they would later comment that just by seeing his eyes they sensed danger in the air, like the eyes of a cat, his gaze was mysterious and calculating, and as if that wasn't enough, his odd way of speaking made him even more particular. Nobody knew anything about him, he had moved to the "Good Life" apartments two months ago and for unknown reasons he only shared words with the person in charge of collecting the rent, the neighbors for everyone's sake and because nobody really cared decided to ignore him.
A few streets away from that building, Akira was opening her new flower business, three months ago she had bought that place, ready to have a simple city life. The place was really beautiful, a glass window allowed natural light to enter and illuminate the store, avoiding the need to use light bulbs, fresh air flowed through the door always open to the public, above it hung a hand painted wooden sign with the word "Florist" in a clear and simple way. The interior was not very decorated as the pots full of plants around were more than enough to decorate the place. At the back of the shop there was a counter where the cash register and other administration things were, and behind it a door that led to a small storage room full of tools, fertilizers and other things for sale, as well as a small bathroom. Akira, brought the most beautiful flowers from the field for all those who needed the natural happiness they gave. She, too, was a strange girl, strange to get, for she was totally honest, kind and self-sacrificing. Her hair was dyed a dark blue, unlike her eyes, which were also blue and as clear as a summer sky at noon, and despite her small stature (no more than five feet tall), her body was healthy and well fed. All his customers used to like him and on several occasions some old ladies buying poppies brought him freshly baked cookies. Despite being too young for some, she could already live on what she liked to do, the money from the flower shop was more than enough to pay the rent, eat and occasionally treat herself to a luxury such as going to the movies.
That July afternoon Chishiya left her house in search of filling the pantry, she could have ordered some pizza delivery, but it didn't hurt to take a walk once in a while. The sun was shining over beautiful Tokyo, filling the streets with yellow reflections that could be seen in the store windows. The boy was always a keen observer, so he didn't hesitate to stop and admire the variety of flowers in the flower shop. However, it was not the flowers that caught his attention, but their owner. Akira looked busy, wearing a dirty apron over her clothes, blue hair pulled back in a messy bun and a dirt-stained cheek. A small boy entered the store offering her a chocolate cookie in exchange for three carnations, the girl gladly accepted the proposal and let him go with a smile on her face. Chishiya saw her purity from the first moment, he felt delighted and somehow happy to see that sincere smile; of course he knew that all charms have an end, such a kind and helpless girl was destined to sink in the evil that was in the world, most likely many people would take advantage of her benevolence for their own benefit. The white-haired man had already seen it on many occasions, girls who for being good and innocent lost everything and had to harden their personality, so he sighed resigned because that magic he saw behind the window would not last long.
The next day Chishiya's curiosity to confirm that his prediction would come true led him to want to observe again through the window, so, in the afternoon he took one of his white jackets and walked slowly towards the flower shop enjoying the fresh air that gave him the last hours of daylight in Tokyo. When he arrived he noticed how a van stopped in front of the store, his instinct became alert and for a moment he feared for the life of that girl, the past had taught him that black vans were not good. He hid behind an advertising box that was on the sidewalk of the street, when he peeked carefully he saw how a man dressed in a very elegant way got out of the van, apparently he was a butler, he entered the store and a few seconds later he came out with a box of roses in his hands, further back Akira was carrying with difficulty another box full of carnations. The butler opened the back door of the car and both left the boxes inside the trunk, finally the man held out a small bag to the girl, they shared a few words and the man got into the car and drove away. Chishiya could see a sticker on the back window of the car and the pressure in her chest dropped. It was a car from the "Jade Hotel" the most famous hotel in Japan, surely they were buying some of the best flowers in town to decorate their rooms. When her guard was down she moved a little closer and hid in the alley right next to the store, only to listen as the girl hummed a song as she swept up the dirt and wilted petals that had fallen during the day inside the store. As she finished her task, she began to put away some flowers in a basket. Chishiya was even excited when she heard her talking to the plants as if they were children. The girl closed the door, lowered the santa maria and put a lock on it, holding the basket of flowers in her hand, she began to walk in the opposite direction to the boy, he with his extraordinary agility began to follow her several blocks, finally she saw how Akira entered an alley where some children were playing happily, Tia Kira! they shouted with happiness when they saw her and filled her with hugs, she gave them the basket of flowers and said goodbye sweetly to continue walking. The day had grown dark and she had seen enough, so she returned to her apartment with only one idea in her head: to come back the next day. So it was from that moment on, Chishiya day after day returned to the flower shop to observe if Akira's personality disappeared, but against his prognosis no one seemed to want to hurt her and she charmed everyone with her radiance. He had become addicted to seeing her behind the window without speaking to her or asking for a bouquet of flowers, in the waiting silence he secretly enjoyed the girl's kind attitude.
He was a genius and he knew it, he could solve the most difficult riddles in a minute and read people faster than anyone else, so it was not difficult for him to discover that the warm feeling he got from his visits to the flower shop was more than curiosity, it was real attraction for the beautiful blue-haired girl.
