When Akira woke up, she felt like a new person, her mind and body functioning much better, so she jumped out of bed ready to conquer the world if necessary. That was until hunger caught up with her, causing a horrible dizziness upon standing up - she hadn't eaten anything since the afternoon of the previous day when she and Chishiya had wolfed down a box of chocolate cookies they had found in one of the abandoned cars on the road. If she didn't eat something soon, Akira would faint before she could even leave the room. Trying to steady herself, Akira returned to bed, sitting down to catch her breath and taking the opportunity to survey her surroundings.
The room that Chishiya had told her about consisted of three beds: a double bed against the right wall and two single beds against the left wall. The room also had a beautiful window overlooking one of the hotel pools, where, to Akira's surprise, there had been a party and music until dawn. Next to the double bed was a white door that appeared to be the entrance to the room's bathroom. The place, in general, looked somewhat dusty, but compared to the mall floor where she had been sleeping since arriving in the Borderland, this was a big improvement. Additionally, for reasons she didn't know, Chishiya had sent her to sleep in the bed on the right, i.e., the double bed, which was not to brag, but was the softest bed she had ever slept in.
Once she had recovered, Akira got up (this time slowly) from the large bed, but before she could take even a single step towards the exit, the door opened, giving her a scare of death. Chishiya's mocking smile greeted her from the doorway.
- Did I scare you? I'm sorry, I didn't know you were awake, -said Chishiya, although he didn't really mean it.
- No, no, I was on my way to find you anyway - murmured Akira, catching her breath. Chishiya approached her with a transparent bag in his hand.
-I thought you might be hungry when you woke up - explained the blond as he handed her the bag.
Akira took it carefully and quickly examined the contents. The bag contained a topper with something that looked like hot soup, as well as a couple of pieces of bread and a bright red apple. "Oh, Chishiya! This is incredible, thank you so much. Did you already eat?" she asked.
- Yeah, a while ago. - Both sat back down on the bed as Akira opened the warm soup pot and almost desperately brought it to her lips. - Did you sleep well?- Chishiya asked.
Akira nodded her head and wiped her upper lip with the back of her hand before formulating a better answer. - I slept like never before, I was very tired.
- I figured - murmured Chishiya. - You should get a swimsuit, they take all the rules here very seriously.
Akira didn't respond to this, first because she was focused on eating, and second because there was something about that particular rule that didn't seem quite right to her. Even with the attitude that the hatter had taken the day before when they met, Akira could tell that something was bothering her, but she wasn't sure what it was. Chishiya, who noticed Akira's somewhat uncomfortable silence, decided not to make any more comments about it. Instead, he lay down on the bed, letting out a long, tired sigh and closing his eyes completely relaxed.
