Fionnas POV
I had left Marshall's house early in the morning, and decided to go apologize to cake. She was just frustrated about LM being sick. And adding on that Marshall had hung out with me- well that was too much stress for her little kitty body. I understood her completely. We were best friends; sisters- we had to make up some time.
As I neared the front door, I could hear cake talking on her phone, she was talking about tier 15? What was tier 15? Never mind. It wasn't important.
I waited at the door, until I heard her say bye to whoever was on the other line. I got up my courage, and pushed my way through the door.
Cake looked up surprised, while turning off the stove. She was making bacon pancakes, and it smelled delicious. She walked slowly over to me while saying, " baby I know I was rough on you yesterday.." I nodded my head. " I was just stressed, you know?" She looked down at her feet in wonder. " Marshall lee is not a good person to date!" She could see the smile coming to my face, and she got confused. I said, half lying, " cake, I don't like Marshall like that, he's just a friend!" Relief spread across her face, "oh I'm so glad. You Wouldn't want your heart broken, now would you?"" She said, winking at me. I felt bad lying to her. I shouldn't have. But it's been done, and I couldn't take it back. Wait- what?! Does that mean I like Marshall? Oh glob, what was I thinking?
She shrunk down and climbed in my hat, " you wanna go adventuring?" I looked up at her , " HECK YES!" I thought it was time I forgot about Him, and all this- for a bit.
I ran out into the field, and the same feeling spread across me when I was flying with Marshall, but slightly weaker.
How peculiar.
"Where to?" I asked cake, still running. "How about the fire kingdom?" She suggests. "Awesome." I personally love the fire kingdom, all lit up all the time, it was beautiful, actually.
We got there by noon, me panting my guts out. I couldn't breathe. It was getting dark, too. I found myself laying on the grass, gasping for air. Cake suggests, "honey, maybe I should have carried YOU... " I looked pathetic. "I just need some water.. That's all.." I took a risky gulp at the sentence. I remain laying breathless there, while cake ran off to get water. I couldn't believe how vulnerable I was at the time. Literally, anyone could come up behind me and scare the shiznits out of me, with no effort.
But that's exactly what happened. After a while of waiting, I felt something cold against my back, and jumped, although didn't have enough energy to turn around.
Then the thing tried to scare me from the front, hissing. I tried to use the rest of my energy to back up as far as I could, but failed, and just collapsed right then and there. the thing stood there, confused, looking at me.
"Fi, you okay?" I was expecting cakes voice- but nope.. it had a deep, lyrical one. And I knew that nickname anywhere. The thing, was no other than Marshall lee. I had no energy to respond.
He knelt down next to me, observing my condition. "what happened?"
I then spotted cake, carrying a glass of water. oh, how i wanted it, BAD.
Cake took sight of me and marshall, and her expression dimmed ,her tail puffing up slightly. She growled quietly while walking towards us. Again, Marshall could definitely hear it. He backed away from me, picking himself off the ground. We both waited for what cake would say, but no other expressions crossed her face. She gently sat me up, and handed me a glass of cold water.
That had been the most refreshing drink I had ever had. The cold liquid dripped down my chin, as I tried to savor and really taste the last of the drops. I was feeling a lot better, and I found the strength to get up.
Marshall asked cake, "what happened to her?" We could both see the fear in his eyes. I interrupted, "just a lot of running. But I'm totally okay now." That brought a smile to his face, and he questioned what we were doing. I glanced at cake, who had an unhappy look on. "We're exploring the fire kingdom." I said proudly. "Ooh! You should come with!!" He smirked at the thought, and shrugged his shoulders, as in, 'meh, okay.' He was so chill, it was confusing.
I grabbed his cold hand with mine, sparks driving through my veins, And we ran into the fire kingdom, cake following closely behind.

THE FIRE KINGDOM
Marshall's POV
"We're exploring the fire kingdom." She said proudly. "Ooh! You should come with!!" I smirked at her, folding my arms around each other.
She surprisingly grabbed my hand, and pulled me towards the fire kingdom, cake following closely behind. I could feel something between us when she did that; and I could tell that she could feel it too.
As we walked under the first flame arch, my face got hot, and I decided to duck a little bit, so my hair wouldn't catch. Fi giggled at my action, and I smiled right back at her.
The warmth of her skin was overwhelming, so soft and hot, intertwining against mine, cold and lifeless.
As we got to the gates, (made of fire, must I say) fionna got confused, "how are we gonna get by these?"
An unknown voice came from behind us, " I may be able to help with that." We turned around to see flamba, a small creature from the fire kingdom. "If you let me spat on yoos." She continued, in her strong Jew nersy accent.
I looked in question to Fionna, but she had allready said , "alright flamba." Fi leaned down, letting flamba spit out a blue flame to land on fi's forehead. The blue then transferred through her body, leaving her a blueish color. Flamba did the same for me and cake, and scattered away, saying something about fire. The spell kinda hurt a little, you know - sense it was a flame.
We passed the gates with no problem, stepping right through the fire. I looked around, and saw a beautiful sight, flames, everywhere, flame people, playing in the flames. So many flames. Fionna poked me, and sent a spark flying through my arm. "Hey, silly. Lets go!" She told me, as I realized I was staring into the distance for too long. I snapped out of it, continuing to follow her. We walked for awhile, without a word. But that didn't last for long, when we saw a boy, about Fionna's age. He had a Mohawk made of fire, and wore the most ridiculous clothes. But Fionna hadn't seemed to think so. She looked at him in surprise, like he was the best thing in the world.
Then he turned to us, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Yelling, he flew over to us. "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE HERE." His Facial expression changed when he saw fionna. From anger... To sorrow. And fionna looked back at him. I knew that expression of hers. It was love. And it made me mad.

Fionnas POV
The boy looked at me with sorrow. "I'm sorry malady, did I hurt your feelings? My cheeks heated up. A lot.
"No, we're just exploring.." I managed to spit out. His flame brightened, " oh, well then you must see the top tower, that's something to explore! His tone was wonderful, but with slight anger. For some reason, I liked it. He smiled, and began to lead us up about 2000 stairs, him flying, Marshall floating, and me and cake walking. I looked up at Marshall, his eyes, deep with pain, and his figure drooped. I was desperately tired by the end of climbing the stairs, but was entertained by the boy's flames. I had forgotten to ask what his name was!
"Excuse me? What's your name again?" I said, politely as possible, still climbing. "Oh, flame prince. And you are?" I looked at him in surprise, "f-fionna.. And this is cake and Marshall.", I answered, gesturing to them. I could barley spit the words out. He gave a small shrug, and continued up the stairs. The rest of the climbing was silent, except the clip- clopping of my shoes on the stairs.
We had finally gotten to the top, me panting. I looked around, but nothing was there. I turned around to see what the flame prince meant by "something to explore", but he was locking the door behind us.
He came towards me, and looked straight into my eyes, "I know we have just met, but you.. Would you do me the honor, of taking you out?" I glanced at cake, who just stood there gasping, and Marshall, who had twice the pain, and now anger in his eyes. I looked back at flame prince, his eyes locked on me.
"I.. No. I can't." I made the simple mistake of looking back at Marshall again.
Flames, Burst through his eyes, throwing me backward, he yells, " it's because of HIM!" He points to Marshall. He runs toward him, flames flowing out of his whole body. And marshall had no time to react, before he was smacked, and thrown out the nearest window.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Before flame-jerk could do anything, I found myself jumping out the window after Marshall.
I could see him, falling about 5 feet below me. He was knocked out cold, and bleeding from his head. I grabbed on to collar of his shirt, pulling him closer to me, letting tears escape from my eyes, intertwining them with his blood.
" You can't die!" I snuggled my face into his flannel. The ground got closer. And closer. And closer. I waited, but - we never hit the ground. Actually, it didn't even feel like we were falling anymore. More like... going horizontal? I looked up, to see Marshall's eyes, open. He now held on to me tight, flying. We softly fell onto the grass, not saying a word.

Marshall's POV
I almost died today.
That's a tough thing to say for me; considering I'm a vampire.
I laid next to Fionna, my heart almost beating- in complete peace. That's when cake stretched out the window yelling, " hurry up you guys, HE'S GUNNA BLOW!" Without thinking, got up, grabbed Fionna by her arms and flew as fast as I could, away from the fire kingdom.
we heard a boom behind us, one that almost blew out my ears. I could feel heat on my back- the flame spell must of worn off. But the flame prince didn't come. He must just be having a temper tantrum. I laughed at myself, Fionna, still in my arms.
I didn't know what I would of done if she would of died. She was my.. Well- one of my only friends. The word made me shudder. "Friends." Just friends, and always friends.
Did I like Fionna?
I couldn't answer myself on that one- it didn't matter, she would never like me back. I relaxed, and just felt the cool breeze, going in and out of my system, smelling the wonderful smell of Fi.
I kept flying, until I got to Fionna's treehouse , cake stretching closely behind. again, I gently set her down at her window. But this time, I came in myself. She asked me, groggily, " what happened to your head? Your cut? It's gone." I just smirked at her, leaning up against the wall, arms crossed, "it's a vampire thing." She smiled downwards, "I wish I could do that."
I snickered at her, as she made her way into the bathroom, to change into her pjs.
While she was occupied, I thought about what it would be like if she was a vampire.
Fionna the vampire. Wow, that sounded strange. She would be uncontrollable, killing everyone in sight. No. No, that's not Fionna. I know she has enough willpower to overpower it. She was better than that. I imagined her with fangs, and Demon eyes, and a few words came to mind, one being 'sexy'.
I snapped out of my daydream, only to find fionna, sitting on her bed, in her pjs. It made her look slightly like a child, but i have to admit, it was cute on her.
Just then, cake jumped through the window, turning all her attention to fionna, not even noticing that I was still there. I decided to play with this, and turned invisible.
" oh honey are you okay?! Why the lump did you jump after that terrible Marshall lee?" Fionna looked offended. "he's NOT terrible, cake, he's my friend! He's been there for me ever sense my birthday, and nothing has even gone wrong!" She apparently forgot I was still there, too. Cake looked up at her, with a mischievous smile planted on her face, "You like him!!!!" Fionna instantly got red, and denied. Cake nodded her head,"Yes you do!!" Maybe I shouldn't have stayed.
"No! " she said unconfidently. "Well- maybe." I felt a zing in my chest. Cake looked at her one more time, "don't deny it girl!" Fionna shyly looked down at her lap, "fine, okay... I kinda like him. But you have to swear not to tell anyone." my un-beating heart felt like it was struck by lightning. cake just smiled, and whispered to Fionna, "I wont tell a soul." And walked away, climbing down the ladder. I knew cake was bad with secrets, and the fact that I didn't have a soul, well that was just ironic. I knew I shouldn't have stayed. Fionna liked me.
Still invisible, feeling good, I slid back out the window and into the night, while i sang softly under my breath,
♫goodnight, my sweet adventuress.♫
