BEYOND THE KILLER'S MIND

Chapter 11 - Beyond... a ski resort.

Friday came around and everyone was excited. Ashely went over to Marceline's house to help her pack, Louis was blabbering about doing cool tricks in the snow, Ben was pumped for the entire thing, and Marceline just looked so cute when she looked forward to the hot cocoa. I could just imagine her building a snowman while everyone is doing extreme stuff like snowboarding or skiing. Then there's cute little Marceline just building a cute little Marceline snowman on the side.

I was excited to go skiing. Feeling the cold air rush in your face was the best. But my favorite part was sliding down a steep hill and then suddenly doing cool tricks and actually landing right. It felt amazing to do something so cool. In the rush of everyone getting ready we all decided to meet at the registration desk.

Ben got there first of course. He's too punctual. Then I got there. Lastly Louis and Marceline. Marceline looked so cute when she walked in all bundled up in her black coat and dark blue leggings. She had a beanie that was a faded blue and small little gray mittens on. She looked absolutely adorable. All bundled up like a little kid. I mean seriously, mittens! So cute.

"Hey Marceline." Ben called out smiling as she approached us.

"Hi." Marceline mumbled her cheeks all red and her hair with tiny drops of melted snowflakes on it, almost making it shimmer.

"Everyone's here. I'll go get our keys to the cabin and then we can go drop off our stuff." Ben exclaimed as he jogged off to the front desk.

Marceline, Louis, and I sat down on the couches in the lobby while we waited for Ben. I kept on staring at Marceline. Wondering how she wasn't hot with the coat and beanie and gloves. We were even sitting by a fireplace and she still didn't get hot.

"Are you cold?" I asked leaning in closer to her to hear what she said.

"No but I'm not going to bother taking it off if we're going ahead." Marceline shrugged. "Besides, it's still a bit chilly."

Ben came back and we all started to head over to the cabin. It wasn't that far. Maybe a five minute walk in the snow from the actual hotel and office. Plus, there were a bunch of cabins next to each other. So it wasn't like we were the only ones out here.

At first I thought that it would be super cold and snow would be seeping through the walls of the cabin. But it was actually really warm and roomy. As soon as we got in Louis and Ben checked for any flaws in the cabin. I joined them.

"Back up generator, check." Louis called out coming back into the cabin from outside.

"No bedbugs." I added returning from the bedrooms.

"Bathrooms working all right." Ben said coming in from the bathrooms, joining is in the living room. "Everything seems fine. Now let's get our sleeping arrangement set."
