Kanaya

White streaks of magic could see seen shot into the air somewhere in the Highblood district. If I'm not mistaken I would have to say they were from Eridan's wand that I made for him.

Feferi only made me believe that it had to be him, "O)( my gos)(! T)(at's Eridan's wand! We )(ave to go and kelp )(im!"

The streams of magic stopped and I looked over at her, "We Can't Help Him Now, He's On His Own. We're Only Three Blocks From The Tower."

Feferi looked like she wanted to protest, but her shoulders slumped and she nodded. We started to jog at a steady pace to the next block and a wave of zombies could be seen heading away from us.

I held my hand up stoping everyone and pointed to the hive left of us and we crept across the overgrown grass and to the side of the indigo building. I look up and cuss as I glare up at it. It had to be Gamzee's hive didn't it?

We creep around to the back and so far the coast was clear. Not a zombie nor a honk could be heard. We wandered around the back and started our path through the backyards of other hives since there appeared to be a lack of zombies and Highblooded trolls didn't seems to believe in fences.

We came to a stretch of road at the end of the block of houses and there stood the belltower with a stone and iron fence and gate surrounding it. It was home stretch for us and the street was empty of anything living or dead.

We made a dash for the gates main entrance. Our weapons still out not wanting to feel too safe. Then suddenly two figures stumbled out from a line of houses to our left. Bloody as they were I could tell neither of them has turned from the sent of their blood.

"Sollux!"

Sollux

I winced from the pain, but I held my own weight. Kk was in front of me and I took the stairs one painful step at a time. Everything was silent but the creaking steps of the stairs.

Eridan was a coward, but this time the royal held true to his word. I was proud of him.

At the bottom of the stairs a lone zombie walked towards us. Karkat sunk his sickle deep into the once blue bloods skull. As the body fell Karkat caught the body and set it down gently making sure it didn't make a louder noise then what it had to.

We both then stumbled outside and my vision soon started to blur a bit. I fall to my knees and clench my teeth to stop my from groaning in agony. My wound throbbed and my mind was beginning to cloud.

I breathed in trying to calm myself but the sent of fresh blood entered my nostrils and made my mouth water. I shook and gripped my arm so hard my nails dug into my wound cutting into it. The sudden flash of pain and the hand of my comrade that now sat on my shoulder made me open my eyes and I felt my head clear again.

"Thorry kk," I say weakly, "ii'm goiing two need thome help."

He doesn't say a word, he just reaches his arm around me and helps me up. I balance myself on him and we stumble forward. There were zombies still on the streets but I weakly used my powers and picked them up tossing them far enough away that they wouldn't be an issue anytime soon.

The tower was only a block away now and we limped weakly as one unit. I was shaking, Karkat's scent was making my vision go black again. I wanted a taste of him.

I breathed in deeply feeling my lashes flutter. I opened my mouth, a little bite wouldn't hurt...

Just a small bit of the blood...

I needed the sweet taste of the nectar, I knew it would clear my mind. My head slumped to the side and into cranny of Karkat's neck. My teeth were sharp and I breath in again feeling my mouth water.

"Sollux!"

The voice snaps me out of my daze and Feferi is running towards me. Any thoughts I had before dissipated and I pushed away from Karkat.

I hit the ground on my side and hold one of my glowing red and blue hands up, "Don't come any closer!"

Kk stopped in his tracks and ff tried to approach me, but Karkat stepped in front of her holding his arms wide, "HANG ON A MINUTE." It was the calmest that I had heard him speak.

I sat up all the way still holding my arm up, "ii can feel the thiickneth inside of me kk, iit'th fuckiing up my head, ii ii triied two kiill you jutht now. ii wath ready two," I coughed gripped my chest and blood sputtered from my lips, "ff, ii want you two...ii want you two be the one two do iit. ii can't become one of thothe."

I cough again and I dig my nails into my chest and collapse to the ground. I rolled into my back and my body began to shake. My throat burned and ached, my body burned and felt so hot.

My mind...it was gone...nothing. It was nothing but the blood that roared in my ears. My eyes clouded and my mind was black.

Just a taste...I thought...just a little taste and let me be me again...

Karkat

I couldn't do anything, I just stood there. Feferi tried to run passed me. Tears were streaming down her face and she screamed Sollux's name as Kanaya held her back.

Sollux withered on the ground then became very still. I took a step forward and Feferi sobbed quietly now. Then Sollux's eyes shot open and he gargles as his yellow blood seeped from his mouth.

His blue and red eyes were cold and lifeless as he sat up and started to crawl towards me. I took a step back, a tear slipped from my eye as I looked at my best friend.

Anger then fuelled my veins at every one of those things, at what a shi t hole this world is and how fucked up that my best friend is a fucking monster.

My sickle was held tightly in my hand and I struggled to lift it above my head and finish him. But I couldn't. Tears freely left my eyes and my hand shook until a gentle hand was placed upon my arm.

"Let me do this Karkat." Feferi said stepping passed me and in front on Sollux.

She blinked away the tears and stood before her matesprit. Her knuckles were white from gripping the trident so hard as she lifted it up and with a cry of sheer agony and rage brought it down through his head.

The crack of his skull was like the shattering of our hearts. Sollux dropped to the ground dead, but I couldn't bare to look away

She ripped the trident out and dropped to her knees sobbing. I stumbled to her side and dropped down beside her bringing her into my arms and we wept over the corpse of our loved one.
