Knowing Hell on Earth

"ALRIGHT SHIT FOR BRAINS WHERES THE FUCKING BASEMENT?" I say walking quickly through the hive with Eridan and Sollux in tow.

"Kk that'th a thtupiid iidea, we need two get two hiigh ground. Thethe thiingth can't cliimb very well." Said Sollux before Eridan could answer.

Banging and shattering glass could be heard in the house now, my heart was racing and I grabbed Eridan by the shoulders, "WHERES THE FUCKING ATTIC FISH BOY?"

He stammers something incoherent and points towards the stairs that lead to the second floor. We all run up the stairs as thumps of human bodies hitting the ground could be heard.

Eridan ran ahead of us down the long hallway of the upstairs and grabbed at the string hanging from the ceiling.

A set of stairs fell down. Eridan ran up them as a wave of the zombies came rushing down the hall. Sollux stood behind me and he blasted a few with his telekinesis. They were too close that we couldn't get up the stairs safely so I slashed my sickles at the closet one.

I ripped the sickle from it's skull and pushed back another one, but one of them charged passed me at Sollux.

I sliced through another one and pushed the body back so it fell on top of a weak one. Time seemed to stop as I heard the pained scream of Sollux. I backed up from the new set of zombies that were coming down the hall and spun around.

Sollux pushed off the zombie and I cut it's head off. His arm was bleeding badly and her gripped it to try and stop the bleeding. Eridan suddenly came down the stairs and started to pull Sollux up with him. "Get up here Kar, there're too many!"

I could barely hear him over the sickening moans of the zombies, but I shakily climb the stairs. Eridan pulls something and the stairs retract and the door closing shrouding us in darkness.

It started out with only a couple of the zombies a few meters away, we knew we could take them, but with the sounds if fighting more and more came, which brings us to the shit we are in now.

Nepeta screams I'm rage and pounces on one of the things and sinks her claws into it's head. We were surrounded now and I was careful when swinging my hammer around not to hit anyone other then the zombies.

The roaring of a chainsaw could be heard, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I swung my hammer again and it hit the head of a zombie, though it was quickly replaced by another one.

One of them grabbed me and went to bite at my neck but I pushed it away and stumbled back. A chainsaw then suddenly ripped into it and a slightly glowing and very much enraged Kanaya was wielding it. She cut through the zombies like paper.

It was enough that my group was able to scurry out from the centre of the mass of zombies. I saw Kanaya grab Roses hand and rush her away from the scene down the street. I made sure we were all accounted quickly then we followed them.

The zombies weren't fast, but we didn't slow our pace until Kanaya stopped and was pulled back by Rose. Kanaya hugged Rose and they clung to each other, Jade awed and if it wasn't for the zombies that were still coming for us I would have found it cute as well.

I cautiously walked towards the couple and pointed back behind us as the zombies were coming closer, "I hate to break this up, but don't you think we should hide somewhere? There's a lot of those things."

Kanaya holds Roses face in her hands and whispers something before kissing her then looking at me, "You're Right, There Is A Bell Tower In The Highblood District We Could Go To, High Ground Seems Like Our Best Option For Survival."

I nod and look at my small group of people, they look shaken up, but they had hope in their eyes. To the tower we go.

The strike of a match was heard and the glow of a light was seen. Light then flooded the room as Eridan lit a couple of lanterns.

Sollux was slumped over against one of the walls clutching his bleeding arm. "FUCK FUCK FUCK, IS IT BAD?"

I crawl over to him and Sollux says, "iit'tg not the bleediing ii'm worriied about kk, ii can feel the thiickneth iin my veiinth. ii'm iinfected liike them."

My heart stops and I sit still unable to say anything so Eridan speaks instead, "there's got to be something wwe can do right sol?"

Sollux is shaking and he clenches his eyes shut, "The only chance at all iith iif you kiill me and thave me from the iinthaniity, or there iith a very thmall chance that Fef can heal me."

I nod vigorously and crawl up beside him and, "YOUR NOT DYING ON MY FUCKING WATCH, WE'LL FIND FEFERI AND SAVE YOUR ASS ALRIGHT?"

He clenches his teeth, "Whatever you thay kk."

I move away from Sollux taking Eridan with me in as much as a whispered voice as I could handle I said, "ONE OF US NEEDS TO GET FEFERI NOW, I WONT ALLOW HIM TO FUCKING DIE GOT IT FUCKFISH?"

"He's my friend too Kar, you don't need to be so rude about it." I was angry, but I felt my face soften a bit when I saw tears beginning to sting Eridan's eyes.

"UGH YEAH SORRY WHATEVER. WE HAVE TO GET HIM OUT OF HERE AND TO HER ALIGHT?"

He looks nervous for a moment before saying, "I could lure them out of the hivve and make a run for it wwhile you help him get out."

I nod thinking that on some stupid and impossible level this could work. "YEAH OK THEN WHERE WILL WE MEET BACK UP?"

"There's a bell towwer not far from here, you can't miss it Kar, it's built like a fucking fortress, if anyone is smart they wwill go there."
