THIRD PERSON POV~

A whole year and a half had passed since that afternoon on the rooftop.

That was in fact the last time y/n and Jin had spoken.

They graduated and went their separate ways. Jin having stayed in Seoul and y/n having moved out to the states like she had always wanted.

Jin hadn't heard anything from y/n since she left and to be quite frank, no one really had.

Jimin had reached out a couple times to let y/n know he wasn't upset with her decision to end things and that he knew how she felt about Jin.

Somewhere in that year, Jin and Jimin had sat down to have a talk and Jin told him everything.

Jimin was upset for a little, but he slowly accepted it. He claimed Jin dated y/n first and he understood and supported them, no matter where they ended up.

Jin wanted to be glad, but he knew none of that mattered now.

He had caved and reached out to y/n a couple times within the first couple months of her being gone, but she never responded back.

As much as Jin knew he needed to let go, he couldn't.

He had waited so many years to hear y/n tell him she loved him again and he couldn't accept how things had turned out.

After nearly two years of not seeing y/n, he finally took it upon himself to fly out and see her.

It took a lot of searching and connecting mutual friends, but he finally found out where she was located.

The whole way there, Jin was petrified that he would show up and y/n would want nothing to do with him and turn him away.

Or worse, she'd be completely moved on and already have a new person she loved.

All these horrifying thoughts ran through Jin's head as he made his way to America.

He felt nervous and on edge, terrified of the unknown.

He was going there in hopes that enough time had passed that y/n would finally accept him back into her life, even if it was just as friends.

Jin had gone over every scenario in his head of how this could possibly play out and it always came back to one thing,

As long as he could have her in his life as his friend, he'd be content.

All Jin wanted was to have y/n by his side, no matter in which way that was.

Flying all this way, he was petrified that he'd leave with nothing, again.

As he arrives in America, and slowly approaches y/n's place, he could feel every nerve in his body rise.

Jin began to wonder if he had made a mistake coming here, as the unknown is usually better then knowing sometimes. What you don't know can't hurt you, after all.

It was too late for that though. Jin was here, now, standing in front of y/n's front door.

It took everything inside of him not to be a coward and turn away. He had waited too long in the unknown and he was now at the point where he needed to know, and now.

Before he knew it, he was knocking on the door, his fist moving before his brain had time to process.

A few seconds passed by before the door slowly opened, the person inside literally taking Jin's breath away.

Standing there, with a look of shock plastered to their face, was the same old y/n Jin had always known and loved.

"Hi, y/n, long time no see." Jin says, swallowing down the lump in his throat.

Instead of turning him away or reenacting any of the hundreds of scenarios that he had thought about every single day up until now, y/n simply smiled and stepped aside, motioning her hand to him.

"Come on in, I think it's time we finally had a talk."

And from there, well.... you'll see.
