It had been a month and Lo'ak was fully recovered from his wound. We were back playing in the water and fishing for the clans food. We met in the night at eclipse where people wouldn't see us and catch us cuddling up on the beach.
It was perfect.
I did notice however that Lo'ak was disappearing for a couple of hours each day. Sneaking off somewhere. My mind did race through the possibilities of him maybe going off to see some girl. Maybe Tsireya but I saw her a lot of the times Lo'ak went missing, so it can't be that.
'Neteyam,' I nudge Neteyam who was sat next to me braiding his hair tightening it, he nodded at me as if to tell me to continue what I was saying,
'Where does Lo'ak go? Have you not noticed he goes missing almost every day?' I sigh in exasperation. A smirk forms on Neteyam's mouth,
'Worried about my baby bro? I haven't noticed it during the day but during the night I defiantly notice him leave the pod, now I wonder where he could be goin-'
I cut him off with a shove making him let go of his braid unravelling it immediately. He scowls at me for making me lose his position.
Oops.
'I'm serious Tey'em, I'm worried about him, he could get hurt wherever he is, and he always ends up needing saving.'
Neteyam scratches his head,
'Come to think of it, I did see him today head in the direction of Three Brothers Rock, maybe he goes there?'I stand up straight away.
Time to find out what he's been doing this whole time.
I called my Ilu and dove into the water heading straight for Three Brothers Rock. It wasn't a far swim, maybe a half an hour. I finally reached the rocks and heard a voice. Lo'ak's voice. Who the hell was he speaking to? I peeked my face around the rock and furrowed my brows at the scene before me. Lo'ak was sitting on a Tulkans fin laughing and chatting to him. I swim closer hiding myself behind the rocks so Lo'ak couldn't see me, I just wanted to hear what they were saying.
'I met a girl Payakan.' Lo'ak tells the Tulkun who's name I now knew to be Payakan. He laughs at whatever the Tulkan said back.
'Buddy, I'm serious. She's the one for me, I just know it.'I smile, is he talking about me? I wipe the smile off my face quickly thinking of the embarrassment of it being about someone else. I peek back around the rock to see Lo'ak running down Payakan's back and with his tail flipping Lo'ak high in the water, I hear a cheer come from Lo'ak. He seems so happy I thought, why hasn't he told me about this?
I swim back to shore deep in thought about what I had just witnessed, I was greeted by Neteyam who laughs at me,
'Didn't find him I suppose?'
I shook my head, if Lo'ak can't even tell me I will not go and shout it about to other people. I made up my mind there and then I would ask Lo'ak about it this evening.
Evening came and the sky grew dark, the sunset was not vibrant today, instead a gloomy cloud rolled through the sky, hiding the vibrant colours from me.
I met Lo'ak at our usual spot under a palm tree on the beach,'Hey you'
I say to him who was already sat under the tree. He beams up at me upon seeing my face and rests his hand on my knee when I sat down. Placing my head on his shoulder I decide to ask him straight away,
'Where'd you go today?' I felt Lo'ak stiffen from beside me. I didn't move though I kept my head on his shoulder staring straight ahead.
'Just in the water, out and about nothing crazy.' His voice sounded nervous.
'You wouldn't lie to me would you Lo'ak?'
I turn to face him now moving and sitting myself infront of him so he had no choice but to look au me. I grabbed both of his hands which were playing in the sand infront of us.
'Mai, you'll call me stupid if I told you,' he said.
'Probably, but I'd rather call you a Skxawng and you be honest with me than you make me mad at you and lie to me,' I say simply. He sighs,
'I meet a Tulkan, he's alone, an outcast to his family. He doesn't travel with the tribe, he's a friend of mine. I met him when Ao'nung left me at Three Brothers Rock. He saved my life Mai.'
I nodded listening intently to what he was saying, knowing he was telling the truth to me.
'But you already knew that Mai.' He says continuing his sentence.
Huh?
'I heard you today, I'm not that stupid, us Na'vi have great hearing remember.' He taps his ear raising his eyebrows at me.
'Ummm I don't know what you're talking about,' I say lowering my head.
'Who's the liar now.' Lo'ak chuckles.
'Why didn't you tell me Lo'ak?''I didn't want you to laugh at me, funnily enough I actually care what you think of me.'
I smack his arm playfully.
'Can I meet him?' I ask hopefully that I could be introduced to his friend.
He smiles at my acceptance of his friend.
'This is why I love you,' Lo'ak smiles pulling me on top of to sit on his lap and kissing me deeply.
I smile into the kiss before it was cut short by a voice.
'Now what do we have here?'
