~the next day~
I couldn't help but feel a wave of unexplainable sadness wash over me when Lo'ak asked me to be his girlfriend. All I wanted to do was speak to my mum and dad about it, tell them all about him. They would have loved Lo'ak. Loved his attitude and the way he protects his siblings.
I thought back to that night when I helped Neytiri save Lo'ak, Tuk and Kiri from the Sky People and how Lo'ak reacted to the Demons hurting his family. I smiled remembering him flipping Quaritch off with that attitude I was extremely fond of.
I decided there and then that I was going to swim out to the underwater tree of ancestors to go and talk to my family. I wolfed my breakfast down exchanging knowing glances with Lo'ak from across the pod.
After breakfast I hopped on my Ilu, which I had become pretty good at riding and swam off to the ancestors tree. The tree was beautiful and it glowed in the water with such brightness you could see it from almost a mile away.
Hopping off my Ilu, I took a deep breath and plunged into the depths below attached myself to the tree. My head shot back and my body become weightless as I was transported to a vision.
-In the vision-
I was a little girl again, but someone my parents before knew that I wasn't a little girl anymore, but I was grown. I cried out to my parents engulfing them in a huge hug.
I felt tears dripping from my cheek. 'Oh mum, dad, I miss you so much.' I cried. They caressed my cheek smiling at me telling me to dry my eyes and it will be okay.
I sat down with them on either side of me, both with an arm around me. I felt safe once more. I tell them that I have a boyfriend now and I talk to them about Lo'ak and the Sully family.
'The Sully Family? You're with Toruk Makto?' My father says impressed at his findings to which I nod shyly, aware of the power that name holds.
My mother smiles down on me, 'he's the son of a night warrior, Eywa has blessed you with a good one child. Keep him close.'
My parents became alert all of a sudden when a worried look crossed over their faces. 'You must go now child,' my mother exclaimed, 'but before you go, we must give you this message. The Sky People are not done, someone or something very close to you is about to get hurt. You must warn the others to prepare for battle. You must go now ma Mai, you must go.'
My mother seemed to become increasingly anxious as I suddenly felt was she was trying to tell me. The air seemed to have disappeared from my lungs, creating choking sounds to come from my throat. I seemed to be gargling... water?
That's right, I'm in the Ocean in the real world right now, I must be running out of air.
'Disconnect! You must disconnect and wake up child!' My father yelled at me, but my hearing was becoming distorted, my vision becoming blurred.
I awoke in the ocean, still in the depths below, struggling I tried to swim up for air, but my body was weak.
My vision started to go black as I let out bubbles from my mouth of my last signs of air escaping from my lungs.
Nothing, I felt nothing as the light from my eyes disappeared.
3rd PERSON POV
