IV. Deep In Shocked

Yoomin Pov

I put down the last plate down and take a look at the grocery bags that I order online. How great nowadays we can just order groceries online and they will send it to you in a day but it's a bit pricey.

I take out the ingredients for making gyeran-jjim (계란찜), which also means steamed eggs. It is a custardy and casserole like side dish but it's good just eating it with instant rice or just like that.

I cooked for two people even though he didn't even said that he want. It's just I felt bad, you know. Cooking for myself when there's other people in this house.

I microwave the instant rice and began to cooked. My steamed eggs and set it down on the dining table. Infant even know what that frown man job is so I'm not sure if he work today or not. Actually we never even speak. I never bumped into him either.

I'm not even sure if he actually in the house. He just in total silence which is creepy if I had to tell the truth. I take a deep breath, looking at the delicious food and decided myself to at least acted kind to him. He actually let me access everything in the house which is glad I guess.

I went upstairs where his room are and knocked on it. However, I don't get any response at all. I knocked again and this time I can heard noise from behind the door. The door cracked opened, revealing him with wet hair and T-shirt which look like he just throw on whatever to open the door.

He looked over at me before sighed, lean a bit against the door frame

"what do you want?"

"wanna have breakfast?"

"....breakfast?"

"yeah... If you want. I'm not forcing you or anything like that"

"you eat on your own" he said and almost turn but I grab his wrist

"look here, dude. Okay I know that we both not really care or interest in each other but let at least respect on each other. I cooked breakfast today so please, join me" I almost begged as I always prefer eating with people.

That's what my parents teach me. They always asked us to eat together no matter how busy the day is. They teach me and my older brother that family is everything so it's weird not doing it.

He frowned at the request, thinking a bit before rolled his eyes "whatever" he said and went downstairs ahead. I sighed relief and follow him to the dining table. He scanned the food before sat down and grab the spoon. He dig in his egg steamed and put the spoon in his mouth.

"is it okay?" I asked as he had no reaction to it.

"....." the atmosphere turn silence. He doesn't even say anything and just eat the food.

"I'm sorry if it's bad. I rarely cooked at home" I try to keep the conversation going and he silent again.

"actually, what your job?" he glance at me and looked down at his food

"just eat" he sighed, annoyed and eat his food in silence.

"can we be at least friend? We used to hang out a lot when we were kids" this time he doesn't even bother to glanced. He seem like want to just leave so I shut up and eat my portion in silence too.

I really can't hang out with jerk like this. I thought to myself and stab my spoon inside the eggs. I bit the eggs and finished the last spoon. I put the dishes inside the sink and washed them

"you should wash your own dishes too" I said and he eat the last bite. He get up and stand next to me, putting his bowl inside the sink. He went to the fridge and looked inside the fridge

"you buy things?" he asked, looking at some foods inside

"yeah I did but I think I will stop by the supermarket today. I need to buy more" I replied and he nodded before leaving upstairs but stopped saying

"leave mine dish alone. I will washed them after you" he said and continue walking. He leave to his room and I smile a bit knowing that my words actually went through his thick head.

I washed my dishes and leave his before grabbing my bag. Wearing my shoes and I leave the house. I already called for cab to come and pick me so I am waiting for it. Soon, the cab comes and I get inside. The cab driver drove to my university and drop me off there. I pay him and gasps at how big the uni is.

I walked through the gates and began to dialed for Suha number. She picked up soon enough with beaming voice

"Yoomin!" she shouted in the phone made me had to put it as bit far from my ear.

"where are you?"

"just stay there. I think I saw you" Suha said and not long after that, someone jumped on me. I put her down and I can hear giggling

"how are you doing with your frown man?"

"he still frowning" I said laughing and she chuckled

"I really want to see this frown man"

"no need. We will separate from each other soon enough" I said not wanting to talked about it anymore. We walked passed by students and some hall before stopping at ours. Suha opened the door and get inside following by me.

Some students are there already. Being an extrovert I am, I waved my hands at everyone and they waved back. I sat down in the middle row seats before was approached by some students

"hey, nice to meet you. My name is Onie" she said holding out a hand. I shake her hand with grin on my face "nice to meet you too. My name is Yoomin" she grinned back and let go

Another students handed out his hand with grinned "nice to meet you, I'm Sora" I shake his hand

"my name is Yoomin and nice to meet you as well" his smile widen "you must be pretty popular in high school" Suha giggles

"not really. She used to be a big nerd, staying in library"

"but I likes making friend. If you guys had any trouble studying, please feel free to come and asked me anything. I will try my best to help"

They all smiled and one of them speaker up

"did you guys know about our professor?"

"the only things I heard is that he is hot and single professor"

"and he is scary"

"yeah. That's pretty much it. He is really private about his private life so no one knows much about him"

"that's good I guess" I said sitting down

"let's not talked about this. If he hears this, we dead" I added again, doesn't want to be in trouble on the first day. They agreed and sat down. I looked on the wall clock. In a few minutes, lecture will began and I wish to get a good GPA even though I am still freshman.

I took big pride on my results even since I was a kid. I do everything I can to get better results and grades. I work hard since kid and I won't suddenly changed.

The door pushed opened, revealing the very curious man. The man who people curious and talked about. They all looked at him with wide eyes as well as me but for a very different reason. He stride inside, putting down his books in his arm and crossed them.

He looked over the room before eyes dropped on mine. His eyes widen as well but he quickly hide it and looked away.

"listen if you play around in my class and failed, don't blame me for that. If you want to play around in class, I told you this before hand. Get out" he spat in very stern and tense words.

No one dares to say anything. Suha looked at me, almost cried and gulped. I sighed, looking at him completely annoyed

This is gonna be terrible

Muttering to myself, staring at the man named Kang Dooshik who is also my husband on paper.
