Chapter 14. Dodge Ball

I'm really sorry I didn't update sooner or later....the wifi was kinda out since there has been a lot of storms here lately. Also, this chapter will almost be like that one episode where Saaya challenges Amu to a duel, but with changes!!

Amu's Pov

We were having a small break before the next challenge was announced. I was sitting and eating an apple, looking throughout the crowd for a certain midnight blue haired guy. But I couldn't find him anywhere. "Where is he?" I asked aloud.

"Who are you looking for?" Asked a voice behind me. I recognized that voice from anywhere, I could feel myself smile a little as I looked behind me. "Utau! Rima!" I said a little happily and stood up. "Hey, Amu." Rima replied giving me the small smile back. "What are you guys doing here?" I asked.

"We're here to make sure you beat that annoying Saaya." Utau said, pumping her fist up in the air. "Yeah, well I doubt I will...unless a miracle happens." I mumbled. "C'mon Amu, have confidence in yourself!" Utau said. Yeah, yeah I do somewhat, I'm just kinda nervous about the next challenges." I replied, looking down at my worn out sneakers. "It'll be alright Amu, Utau, Yaya and I will be here to cheer you on!" Rima yelled with an encouraging smile. I nodded happily, "yeah, thanks you guys!" I replied back.

"So where's Yaya?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Oh, you know...with class prez like usual." Utau answered, smirking. Awe, that's so sweet. I thought to myself. "Wait, who were you looking for in the first place?" Rima asked, interrupting my thoughts.

"Oh....no one... I replied awkwardly feeling my cheeks start to heat up. I quickly turned away so that they wouldn't see my face, but as I did I could feel Rima's stare stab through my back. "So....um." I continued. "I think it's time you guys go back to your seats, it's almost time for the next round to start." I stated.

"Alright, good luck then Amu." Rima replied, still suspicious. "Yeah, good luck Amu. We're cheering for you." Utau said as she gave me a small smile before they both left.

"O-HOHOHOHO!!!" I knew that laugh from anywhere. And it was heading towards me. "Hinamori-san! You are so going to lose this challenge!!" She yelled, too overly confident. I stayed quiet and just looked at my legs, dangling down from the stage, trying to block out her annoying voice.

"Fine, be that way then." Saaya huffed. "I'm going to win anyway." She whispered in my ear. I squirmed a little and gave her a glare. She gave me a nasty smirk and left me, laughing.

After a while, it was time for the 'host' (Saaya's Minion, Saa-chan) to announce the next challenge. So I got up from where I was sitting, and went over to a chair.

"Alright! Now time for the next Challenge!!" Saaya's minion yelled. Everyone in the crowd cheered, eager to find out what it was. My chest even felt queasy, just thinking about what was next.

"This challenge will be......a dodge ball match!!" She yelled. The crowd went wild. I felt my heart calm down a little, I was pretty good at dodge ball. "So, each contestant, The Saaya Yamabuki, and the Dorky Amu Hinamori will each have three people join them for this part of the challenge." She continued, starting to explain the rules.

"Remember, you can't cheat or anything else that involves cheating. It will all be watched by the judges too, so don't worry!" She continued. I sighed and looked at Rima and Utau from the crowd, also seeing Yaya with them. They caught my eyes and nodded, agreeing that I pick them on my team. I gave them a small smile and continued to listen.

"This match will be held in the gym, in 20 minutes, we will continue on the rules in there." Was the last sentence she said, before she left the microphone. Everyone started shuffling, getting out of the bleachers and headed towards the gym. I also stood up from my seat and walked down the steps and onto the fresh cut green grass on the field.
