"You've always had that sadness in your eyes,

Like mine."

-----

After that night, it seemed like nothing had changed at all. Yet, everything had changed at the same time.

Hawks fell asleep on Dabi's shoulder, and when he had woken up in his bed, the only proof another had been there was the window, covered by a thin blanket that waved in the cold breeze that blew in from where the glass shattered.

Hawks felt like he was mourning someone, even though noone had really died. He found himself just staring at the blanket softly blowing back and forth until the sun peeked through the fabric.

What's it like to die? Is dying simply when your heart stops pumping, or is death when you stop existing in others eyes? Hawks couldnt find a real answer. All he could think about as he stared aimlessly was the name "Touya."

After that, he'd done everything he'd always done. Put on a smile at work, and pretend nothing bothered him. He didn't want anybody to worry, especially concerning the media.

He never got anything to try to contact Dabi with. Maybe that was his way of saying it was over.

Hawks found himself more upset that he was left without a goodbye, once again.
