"Hi, could I please get a strawberry milkshake with whipped cream and sprinkles?
Thank you, you're the best, don't you just love strawberries they're amazing, right? My name's Penelope what's yours? Also don't you think pandas are just the cutest animals, I would love to have one but I would have nowhere to put it whilst it grows up, and—

"Jesus, do you ever shut the fuck up?"
The waitress interrupts my rambling with an annoyed look on her face.

Oh, I guess I did get carried away, I look down and mumble a "sorry" before giving her an apologetic look, but she just sighs irritably and walks away.

I often get carried away when I get excited about something, and people always get angry with me for it so I tried to stop, but all I wanted was to be her friend since she looked around my age.
Oh well, I guess she might've just been in a bad mood today.

I smile as I watch a loud group of people around my age laughing and talking at a table nearby.I imagine they've been friends for a few years and will all be going to the same college soon, which is why they're celebrating.
I hope they remain friends

True friendship is hard to come across so if you do manage to find a good friend you should always treasure them. Ha, not that I would know.
But I still have hope, there must be someone out there for me, right?

I smile at the waitress from before as she returns with my milkshake, but she just scoffs before walking off.I ignore the pang of hurt in my chest and focus on my milkshake which the sight of brings me joy.

I look outside and see that the weather is warm today and decide since I'm not exactly waiting to eat with someone I should take my milkshake to go and get some fresh air.

I wave over the same waitress but when I check the money in my pocket I find that it's short and my face heats up in embarrassment as I count and recount my loose change scattered on the table while she watches on in amusement.

I turn to the waitress and see that she actually has a name tag that reads Chloe.
"Uh, e-excuse me Chloe I am so sorry but I don't have enough money, could you just take the milkshake back or—

"I'll pay for the pretty lady"

I look up to see a guy with gelled back blonde hair and brown eyes smiling down at me, and that's when I recognise him as the guy from the group of people my age earlier.

I return his smile and say
"Oh no, that's ok, you don't have to."
"No, no I insist" he says still smiling a little creepily at me.

So I just shrug helplessly and the waitress says in a bored voice $7.99 he leans forward and hands her a note telling her to keep the change. As she turns to leave I pick up my milkshake and take a sip closing my eyes as I savour the taste.

I hear a throat clear, and I look up to see the guy still standing there.
"Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't thank you for paying"
He winks suggestively and says "I'm sure there are a lot of ways you can thank me."
My brows furrow as I stare at him confused and then my face morphs into a smile as I realise.

"Oh do you want a favour, I can always walk your dog if you have one, or ooh I could walk your cat, not that you can really walk cats they kinda just lie around being lazy but they sure are cute—

"No, I don't have a dog -or a cat- how about just your number for now, I'm Anthony by the way" He says looking over my outfit.

I'm wearing jeans, a white turtleneck shirt and a white cardigan.I smile at him, getting excited, this is the first time someone's ever asked me for my number and I'm already imagining us as best friends, but there's one problem.

"I'm so sorry, I don't have a phone, but I'm sure we can still be friends"
I say with an apologetic yet hopeful expression on my face.An irritated look appears on his, before he lets out a strained laugh and just quickly turns away and leaves.

What, did I do something wrong?
Bad Penelope, you scared him away.
as
I sigh in resignation
why am I always like this?
Before picking up my milkshake and heading out of the cafe.It had been an hour after school finished and I'm trying to waste as much time as possible before going home.

As I'm walking towards the park I have a sense that someone's following me but as I turn around I see no one, so I carry on walking.I'm halfway through my milkshake when I feel I'm being watched again, and as I turn around I thought I saw Anthony but in a flash he was gone and I was sure I was imagining things but the uneasy feeling doesn't leave.

It's still daylight and there are people milling around but I still feel worried.
I'm distracted not paying attention to where i'm going when I bump into a wall and my milkshake goes flying everywhere as I fall to the floor.
Ouch. I landed on my wrist and a sharp pain shoots up my arm.

"What the fuck, do you not watch where the fuck you're walking?" A deep voice asks angrily and I realise he's British from his accent. My eyes widen as they trail up a tall masculine form that is definitely not a wall.I stare at the expensive shoes and as I look on I see black slacks and a black turtle neck that was now stained wet with my milkshake covering a muscled chest that had tapered off to a lean waist   and—

Oh wow, his face must have been carved by gods because it was beautiful and by beautiful I meant a jawline sharp enough to cut glass that was currently clenched angrily, he had unblemished smooth skin and plump pink lips, a nose that while straight had a slight bump indicating it had been broken before but it just added to his appeal. His eyes are a dark grey that looked like stormy clouds on a rainy day with long lashes that would make any girl jealous of and to finish it off pitch black wavy, hair that gave off an effortless look without trying.

He was glaring at me angrily waiting for a reply but I just stared at him unable to form a single coherent word as my mouth hung open.He rolls his eyes irritatedly and says "why don't you take a picture it'll last longer."

But I just blurt the first thing that comes to my mind which is
"you're so pretty."
