As I reach the exit of the restaurant I notice how dark it is.How long was I out for?

I see Sebastian standing beside an expensive looking car, checking his watch impatiently.
"Well, come on then" he says with an expressionless face.
I just stare at him confused, he gestures towards the car, and I finally understand what he's implying.

"Oh no, it's totally alright, I can just walk home" I declined and turned to step away.

But he ignored my response and instead grabbed my hand pulling me towards the car with a firm but gentle grip.
That's when I noticed he was wearing leather gloves.
Distracted by the sight I didn't protest as he lowered me into the car seat, shut the door and walked around to his side.

Neither of us spoke as he started the car, and reversed out of the neighbourhood.
Until he finally broke the silence by asking briskly "directions?"
"O-oh yeah, just go to the South valley and I'll give you directions from there" I answered nervously clenching and unclenching my hands.
He glanced at me from the corner of his eye, and gripped the steering wheel so hard his gloves strained against his knuckles.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, distinctly aware that my previous confidence had diminished now that I was alone with him.
I seemed talkative and chatty most of the time, but that was in public and being alone with Sebastian reminded me just how hard it had been for me to make friends and find people who enjoyed being around me.
"Stop," he said, and he didn't shout but I heard the irritation in his voice loud and clear, which was somehow worse than getting snapped at.
I immediately stopped and instead began chewing my lip nervously. For some reason Sebastian's opinion mattered to me more than anything, and I wondered why I felt this way.

But that's when I remembered who I was. I was Mother-freaking Penelope Evangeline Myers and nothing could bring me down. So I turned towards Sebastian and smiled at him enthusiastically, which earned me a side eye but otherwise he kept his eyes straight ahead.

"So, Sebastian, how old are you exactly?" I ask conversationally, but he just sighed, and continued to stare straight ahead.
"Hey, you know I'm not going to leave you alone until you answer, right?" I smiled brightly at him, knowing he would break eventually.
After a few minutes, I turn away, as if pretending to give up, but suddenly I turn back and scream "BOO!" - Not even a miniscule reaction, not even a single twitch. This time actually giving up, I slump in my seat disappointedly, staring out the window.

"I turned twenty yesterday," he answers gruffly, and I smirk in triumph, but then my face falls. "I missed your birthday," I said sadly, "What flavour cake did you have?" I ask suddenly, he seemed like a dark chocolate kinda guy, but who knew. "I didn't have one" he answers dispassionately, directing the car through empty streets. I gasped, "What do you mean you didn't have one, its criminal not to have a cake on your birthday," I say in shock, but he just shrugged.
Thinking about cake reminded me of my hunger and that's when my stomach let out the loudest rumble known to man. I grimaced in embarrassment, but he simply glanced at me from the corner of his eye.

That's when I noticed this wasn't the direction to go home, and I turned towards him , "where are we going, this isn't the way home?" But he just grunted, and carried on.

I reluctantly sank back down in my seat, and waited to see where he was taking us.

That's when he pulled up to what looked like a small, family owned restaurant, which had a cute sign hanging above with interwoven fairy lights.

"How pretty," I murmured to myself, reading out the name "The Myers Diner"

"Ohmygod, they have the same name as me," I laughed excitedly.
He just went with his signature grunt which made me roll my eyes.

Opening his door, he stepped out the car, but before I could do the same he was there holding it open.

I stared at him in shock, nobody had ever held open a car door for me, and I couldn't help but giggle, "What a gentleman,"

I could've been mistaken, but I Swear there was the tiniest hint of pink on his cheekbones.

But then he opened his mouth and ruined the moment, "Are you coming, or not?"
