The Face In Darkness

Kobura: *eyes widen, suddenly flying towards him and punching him with a heavy right hook* RRRRRAAAAHH!!! *Devil may cry 4 shall never surrender theme plays*

Nightmare: *tanks the hit, letting out a low laugh* Hahahahaha… You fool. You can't— *suddenly, he gets launched back like a flash, slamming through a dozen trees before sliding back on the ground* G-gh… How did he go through my aura…?!
Kobura: *hunched over with his fist still out, fist is shaking, steam coming off of it from the sheer power put into it* … *slowly looks up at him, growling* I don't know who you are… but NO ONE HURTS MY FAMILY…
Nightmare: *gets up, cracking his neck* *says to himself* I must find out how he pierced my aura. If I don't, he could be difficult… *stands firmly on the ground, pointing at Kobura* You won't be lucky like that again, Frost Demon. If you won't answer me, I will leave nothing left of you and that primate.
Kobura: FUCK YOU!! *rushes at him blindly again, going in for another barrage of blows, but this time Nightmare is stood there menacingly, not phased by the strikes* W-what?!
Nightmare: I told you. You will NOT catch me off guard AGAIN. *dodges Kobura's last right hook, grabbing his fist and pulling him into a brutal right knee uppercut, launching him into the air*
Kobura: *coughs up blood* ACK—!!
Nightmare: *raises his elbow, slamming Kobura down hard enough in the stomach to make him bounce off the floor, then does a point blank black ki blast, sending him flying and slamming into a tree*
Kobura: G-AAAGH…! *shakily pushes himself off the ground, wiping his mouth* Y-you fucker… Using the size difference to your benefit…! *still growling in anger*
Nightmare: You'd be a fool not to use your advantages. You will need every single one against me. *shadows begin to grow around him, before suddenly shooting out towards him as spikes*
Kobura: !! *tries to dodge them, but gets impaled in the side, shoulder, and thigh* AGH!! *dashes back out of them, breathing heavy, charges up two ki balls and throws them at the hulking figure ahead of him* DON'T PATRONIZE ME!!
Nightmare: Tch… *strafes to the side in a low dash, dodging the blasts as they track after him, before catching one and crushing it in his hand, engulfing it in darkness* Gh… This ki burns more than normal. You're full of secrets, aren't you?
Kobura: HRRRAH!! *flies towards Nightmare, looks like he's about to throw a wild right hook, but just as Nightmare goes to counter it he twists his body in a 360, landing a spinning kick right to the back of his head*
Nightmare: *stomps his foot into the ground to stop his fall, growling and swinging his fist to hit Kobura, though he's too slow to hit him, Kobura quickly dashing back out of his reach* Sly bastard…
Kobura: *slides back, stumbling a bit trying to gather his bearings again, looks at his wounds with a shaky breath* It stings horribly… The fuck is this? It can't just be ki!
*cuts to Nocha's POV, everything is black before showing her slowly open her eyes, seeing Kobura hunched over and Nightmare missing bits and pieces of his shadowy aura, followed by her grunting*
Nocha: K-Ko…bura…? *tries to move but struggles* I-I really did it… I got the b-bell, huh…? I can't leave… you o-on your own… *she feels a soft hand on her shoulder, looking over to see Tori* Master…?
Tori: *smiles* You held your own for so long… Please, reserve your strength for when you are more ready. I am sorry I took so long…
Nocha: Pff… Don't worry, m-master. *looks back at Kobura, gets a serious expression* If this keeps up, Kobura might b-be able to hold him off. He finished his training, right…?
Tori: As much as we could, before the belfry was rung. *scowls, eyes narrow* It seems this bad omen is what is expected, after all these years without one; it was waiting for a chance. *sees the exposed dark skin on Nightmare, making him focus deeply* What could that be under all of that smog…?
Kobura: *growls, charging more ki in his hands as he stares down Nightmare* Your armor is going away. I'm stripping you of your defenses, aren't I? *narrows eyes* It's all for show… I'll crack that shell of yours and put you down for coming here, you damn freak!!
Nightmare: *does a thrust to power up, the pressure emitting from him destroys the floor beneath him and causes trees all around to be unearthed from the ground, cherry blossom petals painting the area in a black and pink hue* I will kill you and your friends before you even get the chance.
Kobura: *charges ki in his hands again, but then suddenly charges forward in a quick pace* You're as good as SPACE DUST!!! *suddenly ducks down as soon as he gets to Nightmare, going for a heavy blow to the liver*
Nightmare: … *gets in a low defensive stance, catching Kobura's fist, but suddenly let's out a low growl of pain, stepping back with a snarl* What did you…?!— *growls, retaliating with quicker, hefty strikes*
Kobura: HAAAAH!! *keeps one fist over his jaw to protect it while he ducks and weaves the strikes from Nightmare, before landing five blows to the torso quickly, ripping away the darkness with each strike with the power of his ki* HRAH!! HRAH!!! HRRRAH!!!
Nightmare: *continues to dodge the onslaught of strikes, but still is hit by a few straggling jabs to the ribs and chest, revealing more and more of his body* DAMN YOU…!! *catches his ki-infused fist, making him let out a low huff of pain, before pulling him into a savage headbutt*
Kobura: *the hit makes his vision dazed, passing in and out of consciousness* A-aagh… *slowly fumbling down, before suddenly grabbing on to Nightmare's arm tightly and lunging himself forward, slamming his now ki-infused head right on to Nightmare's face* RRRRRAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
*slow motion of both of them sliding backwards from the mutual attacks, smoke coming off of Nightmare's face from the burning ki…*
Nightmare: *grabbing on to his face, hiding it from them while letting out sharp breaths through his teeth* D-damn… you…!! I will make you PAY for that!!
Kobura: *blood flows down his face from the headbutt, shows he cracked his plating against Nightmare from the force he put into it* Haah… Aah… *grunts, wiping the blood off of his eyes just in time to be met face to face with their attacker* …N-No. No, that… that can't be true… *Dragon ball super to regret theme plays*

*shows a close-up of Nightmare's face, then shows flashbacks of when Kobura and his elder brother were spending time together around the kingdom for the last time… all of it cycling in Kobura's mind as his pupils shrink in disbelief*
Kobura: *tears roll down his cheeks, completely taken off guard* N-N… Nin…?
Nightmare: *shows a full shot of Nightmare's face, staring back at Kobura with a sinister gaze* . . . (To Be Continued...)
