The Curse Within

*everything is pitch black…*
Nin (Voice): Y'know… After everything happened, I thought I lost it all. I gave up everything. *shows glitchy flashbacks of Nightmare's perspective, fighting Nocha* A Saiyan, still alive and kicking… *cuts to Tori* A human, with skills I've never seen before… *cuts to Kobura* And you… I didn't think I'd ever see you again, bro. *shakily sighs* If only I wasn't so weak. I could've stopped all of this from happening. Could've found my family, and freed myself from this curse sooner. Obviously, hindsight's twenty-twenty… *let's out a low laugh* You've grown up so much. Well, more than I thought you ever could… I had so much to tell you… And now I… I finally have that chance.
Kobura (Voice): W-well, hold it the hell in, you sleep-talking asshole!!
Nin: *shows his perspective, opening his eyes slowly* H-huh…?
Kobura: *standing by the corner with his arms crossed, looking away with an embarrassed red hue on his face* Making fun of my damn height… Do I have to kick his ass again or something?!
Nocha: Someone has an insecurity.
Kobura: Shut your mouth, ape!! *anger vein ticks on his head*
Nocha: Always with the ape card with you. If it wasn't for me, we'd all be dead!! *anger vein as well*
Tori: Please, please… *walks into the room, coughing hard for a moment, using a staff as a walker from his injuries* What has passed has passed, my students. Besides… *looks over at Nin with mixed feelings* Our unexpected guest has finally awoken.
Kobura and Nocha: *look over at Nin, both hesitant to see him wake up*
Nin: *finally opens his eyes fully, now actually processing all of them are covered head to toe in bandages and gauze from their injuries, looks down to see he's covered as well and is restrained on to the bed by his wrists* M-my head… Ahh… *looks over at Kobura, tearing up* Kobura… I'm… I-I'm sorry I was gone for so long. Everything was just—
Kobura: I don't want to hear it. *looking away* *JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Diamond Is Unbreakable silence theme plays*

Nin: Little brother… Please, you have to let me explain—
Kobura: EXPLAIN WHAT?! *shakes, still looking away* I looked up to you… We all did! Then, right when we needed you the most, you just— you just VANISHED!! *growls, finally facing Nin, tears streaming down his ferocious face* What am I supposed to tell Freezer, huh?! That the moment I finally find another relative, they almost—?!
Nin: Freezer is alive too?! *eyes widen in a joyful shock*
Kobura: *growls, walking up to Nin and hitting his chest* I CANNOT let you go to him, not like this…! Not when you're this dangerous!!
Nin: Kobura, I'm— *sees Kobura rest his head on his chest, starting to cry* K-Kobura…?
Kobura: *shakily sighs* I-I thought… I thought we were all that was left… *hits Nin's chest weakly as he talks with a cracky voice* Having to hurt your own family… To almost kill them… is something NO ONE should have to go through, dammit!! *looks up at Nin, tears streaming down his face with a pissed off expression* What happened?! Where were you?! WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE NEEDED YOU THE MOST, YOU BASTARD?! *feels a hand on his shoulder, making him snap his head to see who it is* WHAT?!
Tori: *shakes his head, keeping his hand on Kobura's shoulder* Kobura… We do not know the full story. To blame your brother is purely your repressed memories speaking for you. *eyes narrow* Allow him to recollect himself.
Nocha: *steps forward, nodding* As much as I want to kick his ass too, it's obvious it wasn't him we were fighting. His voice, demeanor— everything is different.
Kobura: *growls, closing his eyes and stepping aside* . . .
Nin: . . . *sighs, pulling on the restraints slightly* I could break out've these at any moment, y'know. I just don't wanna be threatening to you guys. *sits up, almost in a meditative state while restrained* I have a curse in me. One that takes control if I lose consciousness, whether it be while sleeping or in combat. As long as you guys don't knock me out, I won't turn back into that thing.
Tori: How did you come about such a curse?
Nin: That happened during my mission. *looks over at Tori, narrowing his eyes* I can only talk about that with my family. There's no exceptions.
Tori: *gently nods* So be it. However, how can we believe you will not fall asleep again? If that bad omen arrives once again, you could cause harm to those around you. A living fuse, ready to ignite.
Nin: With all do respect sir, you don't know me, or the training I've been through for every situation. *lowers his head* To be prepared for anything… means to always have one eye open.
Tori: Both mentally and physically. *grins* You are well taught. That spirit did not know how to utilize your strength, that much is certain.
Nin: Speaking of… *he casually reaches into his pocket with his tail, pulling out the blue Dragon Ball, and throwing it back to Tori whom catches it* He stole that, so it's best I give it back to the owner. Can't go stealing from old folks like I'm some scav.
Tori: *holds the ball close to his chest for a moment, then hands it to Nocha* As far as I knew, it was merely an heirloom passed down by my grandfather…. Now, it seems as though it holds special power. I will investigate it. *walks forward, seemingly pulling a tea set out of nowhere* For now, relax. Enjoy some tea, the breath of life.
Nin: *sweatdrop* I'm more of a coffee guy myself.
Tori: I insist, I insist!
Nin: *more sweatdrops* I… fine, fine…
Nocha: *looks around to see Kobura disappeared, making her scowl* I'll be right back, master.
Tori: As you wish, my student. I will stay with our new guest! Ohoho!
Nin: *has a bitter expression as he watches Nocha leave the room, only drinking the tea to be polite to Tori* Mmm… Blegh…
*cuts to later, Nocha roaming around the building until she sees Kobura sitting by the edge of a window, watching out towards the sky*
Nocha: *walks up and sits next to him, looking out at the sky as well* I know after all of that, you're probably wondering what you're gonna do with your older brother… If the chance all of this happens again, right? *The legend of Korra Korra confronts tarrlok theme plays*

Kobura: No. I know already I can kick his ass pretty well.
Nocha: *scratches her head* You know, you're usually supposed to be humble about that stuff… *looks over at him* If it's not about how you can fight him, then what are you worried for?
Kobura: You think I'm that short-sighted? Don't make me laugh. *raises his head, looking up to the moving clouds* I'm not worried about him… I'm worried about the rest of my family. For all of these years, I convinced myself they were all gone… When I met Freezer, I thought it was a miracle… This, though? What does this mean to the rest of my kin? Did they survive? Are they cursed too, just like him? *clenches fist* Are they dead, or alive…? I have to know now. If they're out there, and I sat on my ass waiting for fate to drop me blessings all the time, who knows what could happen. Alone in space, waiting for someone to save them… *glances over his shoulder at Nocha* I want my family back, no matter what. I just don't want to lose them before it's too late…
Nocha: *meekly smiles, punching his shoulder playfully* I'm sure they're alright. With a brother like you, they'll be found soon enough.
Kobura: *chuckles, punching her shoulder back* Look at you, being nice to me for a change. *sighs, closing his eyes* I just want Freezer to feel safe around his family. Azura and Blue too. If there's a chance we can all come back together again, I want them to live peacefully.
Nocha: As long as you keep up your training, I'm sure that'll happen soon enough.
Kobura: Thanks. *his tail swishes around gently, both of them shoulder to shoulder looking up at the sunny sky*
Nocha: *after awhile of silence, she suddenly speaks* So, when did you find out you were into men?
Kobura: *face shoots red, jumping back, flustered* W-WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM?! (To Be Continued...)
