Overcoming The Shadows

*It cuts back to Kobura*
*Dragon ball super memories of time theme plays*

Kobura: No… Nonono… You were… Why are you…? *falls down to his knees, completely broken* What did I do to deserve this…?
Nightmare: *steps forward, lifting Kobura by his horn* Get in my way. *starts charging a black ki blast against Kobura's chest, narrowing his eyes at him* Any last words?
Kobura: *tears streaming down his eyes, says with a shaky and breathless voice* I-I love you, big brother… Please… Don't k-kill me…
Nightmare: *his vision gets covered in static again, making him grunt in pain* G-gh… Shut up…! *just as he's about to blast his heart, he's suddenly kicked back far, sliding across the ground* Agh… *growls, standing up slowly with an angered expression* Who else wants to die…?
Tori: *standing in Goku's classic stance against Vegeta, staring up at Nightmare* You will not hurt my children any longer, accursed spirit. *looks over*
Nightmare: *hesitates, then lets out a low chuckle from the surprise* Are you a human? Now isn't this special! *starts to laugh louder, crossing his arms* Will a human attempt to take me on? Don't make me laugh.
Tori: You should never underestimate your opponent, no matter the strength. *eyes narrow, the area around him getting ripples of bright ki like it's water* I have lived long enough to know a thing or two.
Nightmare: You better know how to back up your words, old man. *walks forward, cracking his knuckles* Don't try to apologize when I leave nothing left of you.
Tori: *breathes in, and exhales slowly, closing his eyes* *Dragon ball fighterz Tien theme*

Nightmare: … *suddenly flies towards Tori with a heavy kick, trying to take him out in one shot* Get out of my way!!
Tori: *while his eyes are still closed, he shifts to the side, grabbing on to Nightmare's leg and twisting, forcing Nightmare to fly straight into a mountain with his own force, destroying it into a pile of rubble* The wind guides the river.
Nightmare: Agh… *growls under his breath, shattering the rubble around him with his ki as he gets back up* You annoy me already. If you want a swift death, you WILL tell me where the Dragon Ball is. Do you understand me?! That is your only choice now!! *raises his hand, making shadowy spikes shoot out from the ground and dart towards Tori*
Tori: As water is guided, it pulls slowly… *steps to the side, narrowly dodging two spikes aiming for his head* …and pushes with equal force. *he suddenly starts running toward Nightmare like a blur, jumping over and flipping around spikes aiming for him as they assault him, he slides underneath a dozen spikes and jumps up from a dozen more, sliding across them while his eyes move left and right incredibly fast, catching their movements, just as he's about to reach him, Nightmare makes a wall of shadows in front of him*
Nightmare: Tch…! This is no human! Who the hell are you?! *eyes widen as he looks up, seeing Tori jumping over the wall and sliding down to the ground, back into his stance from before, making Nightmare's eyes twitch in frustration* Not even a scratch…?
Tori: Your shadows, a blazing wind. My mind, a calm ocean flow. Our combat, a surging typhoon. *does the "come here" hand signal, taunting him* You will be purged in this battle, spirit. Your actions against my family are unforgivable.
Nightmare: You talk too much, you walking corpse. *suddenly flies towards Tori, making them clash, Nightmare throws out heavy-yet-untrained swings, while Tori narrowly dodges them and moves around Nightmare constantly, striking him from behind and his sides as if like a dance* You little—!! *slamming the ground with his strikes, trying to get Tori away from him*
Tori: *jumps back, stepping along the rocks flying in the air, until he flips back to the floor and dashes towards Nightmare again, extending his hand out fully, the tips of his fingers pressing against Nightmare's stomach* Tobu. *suddenly does a barrage of precise punches at full force, making a shockwave ripple throughout the shadows around Nightmare, then does one heavy palm strike right to his core, sending him sliding back a couple meters*
Nightmare: G-ghk…! *holds over where Tori struck, there's a lingering pain in his aura there* You struck my ki directly… There is more to you than meets the eye. You're dangerous. *grunts, looking at Tori with glowing eyes*
Tori: *goes back into his stance, but his hands are shaking like he has nerve damage, despite that he smiles under his mask* I am glad I have left an impact. It took some time.
*cuts to Kobura, watching the fight from under the tree next to Nocha, still in a complete emotional shock*
Kobura: *completely lost, shaking* H-he's… alive…? Why is Nin doing this…? Doesn't he l-love me…? *growls, gripping his head, flashes of him spending time with Nin plays in his head like a rollercoaster* B-But he was gone… Gone!! Dead!!! And now he's here, trying to kill us over some… BALL THING?! *his heart is racing, sweat goes down his temple, shakes head* N-No, but… He was going out on a mission, and never told me what it was for. He never came back either… So then why…? Why is he back now, trying to kill me?!
Nocha: *eyes slowly open, seeing Kobura having a conniption* H-nnh…?
Kobura: *muttering "I don't understand" to himself repeatedly, curling up into a ball as he tries to comprehend the situation, until finally everything around him goes black again, left sitting there in complete darkness from his perspective*
*cuts back to Tori, just barely dodging Nightmare's punches and kicks, until finally one lands right on his torso, sending him flying back and slamming into a tree*
Tori: AGH!! *slides down the tree, trying to push himself back up to no avail* G-gh… It seems my… time has come… *looks up at Nightmare, who's walking up to him slowly* The typhoon draws towards an end…
Nightmare: So it has. *shadows surround Tori, keeping him wrapped up to the tree* Now, tell me where it is. If you won't speak up, I will torture it out of you. Slowly…
Tori: *let's out a weak laugh, shaking his head* Even if I knew what you were talking about, I would never help you. Not like this, you foul shadow.
Nightmare: … *the shadows around Tori begin to tighten, slowly crushing him against the tree*
Tori: *still weakly laughing, but then starts to scream in pain, struggling in the shadow's grasp*
Nightmare: I warned you all. Now, all of you will— *suddenly gets hit by a ki blast, making his head reel back from the impact* … *looks over at who shot it*
Nocha: *panting, holding her hand out with ki still around it* L-let… Let GO OF HIM!!
Kobura: …? *vision starts to clear up, seeing Nocha in front of him, still beaten down but fighting nonetheless* N-Nocha…?
Nocha: *growls* Snap out of it, Kobura!! We're… W-We're the only ones who can stop this thing!! *gets in her stance, looking back at Kobura with a stern expression* You came here to get out of your mental block, yeah?! Then come on, we have to stop them before they take us out!!
Kobura: *still stuck, looking at Nightmare's face and seeing Nin* Brother…—
Tori: *cuts him off* That… is not your… brother… *starts to cough hard, some of his ribs were broken by the shadows* Whatever happened, a spirit has used him as a vessel… Y-you must… subdue the phantom… It is the only way… *dragon ball super the battle continues theme plays*

Kobura: *hesitates, looking at Nightmare again, then narrows his eyes* That has to be it… I didn't think about it cause of the shock, but Nin… Nin wouldn't act like this. *gets back up, standing next to Nocha and going into his stance* I don't know what happened, and I don't think I may ever know… *both him and Nocha power up, standing shoulder to shoulder* But I swear on everything I hold dearly to me, I WILL break my brother out again!!
Nightmare: *shadows surround him like a massive puddle, engulfing the land around them in black* Don't make promises you can't keep. (To Be Continued...)
