Running was becoming harder the more time passed, y/n started to feel her muscles get sore and her breathing was getting shorter while her sweat started to fell off her forehead.

The forest passed fast before her eyes not giving her time to analyze any details of it, if there was a person she would probably not even see it on how concentrate she was on her run and to not trip.

She had a plan, maybe a dumb one but it was worth a try at least, she wouldn't die in vain without even trying.

Even though Y/n was no hunter, she knew where all the traps were in the forest, she was usually the one asked to go pick the little animals who got chaught in the traps afterall.

Since the territory of her tribe was limited they did some traps to keep the visitors away and one of those was the one y/n needed, a big hole full of sharp spikes, perfect to kill, the trap needed to pull a little string to be triggered so she needed to be extra careful to not be the one chaught in it.

With one last sprint Y/n ran towards a plain area with no trees or bushes, the perfect place for a trap like that.
The trap was covered in dirt and leaves so it wasnt really visible unless you knew where it was and to her luck she knew, spotting the slightly unnatural group of leafs.

She saw the trap string just in time before jumping over it a little trying to not warn the monster about it, but just as she landed her legs suddendly cloudnt move once again just like some hours prior.
She cursed under her breath as she saw that damn rope once again around her legs.

She swore under her breath at the hit to the ground, feeling her arms pulse by the hard impact, she turned around just in time to see the monster approching her and doing something with the bracalet on his arm.

Y/n stared confused and scared for a second before a sharp pain got to her, she looked down while letting a surprised and painful scream as she saw the rope thighting around her legs, making them bleed.

the blood quickly staining her pants the sight making her cry more in desperation and confusion.

The pain was horrible, it reminded of someone stabbing her legs constantly with a sharp knife, the rope cutting easily through her skin like it was butter, with her trembling hands she grabbed the rope, trying to rip it off her skin but only causing more damage and getting various cuts on her hands, she bit her lip while gasping with shaky breaths.

Why did he used that thing now, why now.

On the other hand, the monster was enjoying the show before his eyes and with a slow pace he was getting closer and closer to the human female on the ground.

He didn't ecxept the female to start running all of a sudden and mostly he didn't ecxept her to be this fast, he never saw a human female run for so long at that speed, especially because he thought he could reach her but she was getting annoying with all the dodging, zig zag and obstacle thing, he saw her knowlege of the forest and how she was using it to her advance and it actually slowed him down.
He perfectly knew she was getting short on stamina and could have catch up with her easly without the need of the rope. But wheres the fun in that? Hes a hunter after all, easy things are not of his liking.

So when he saw her little jump, probably due to her not seeing a rock probably, he shoot at her the same rope he used before that day but the difference this time was that he actually activated it, one of his favorite gadjets.
Perfect to paralyze his prey's.
