They say that a sign
That you are ready to date is
If you leave people
Better than when you met them.
If that's the case,
You should cease talking
To any romantic interest,
Put a whole ocean of distance
Between you two,
Delete your accounts that
Are more of a critique than a
"Meet cute".
Though you left when
I wanted to talk and know more
Of you,
After a while it felt like
I didn't know who I was
Talking to anymore.
Do you know how that feels?
The way you shared your life with me,
The things I returned as well?
How you used to greet me
Every morning
And that faded over time.
I can't blame you for
Wanting to find someone new.
I would have liked,
If anything,
You would have let me talk to you
Instead of growing bored with me.
You didn't leave me worse,
But you definitely didn't
Leave me better.
