My feet take refuge in shoes
to protect themselves from the unknown;
shoes are a comfort that I could go totally without.
I wear them indoors, outdoors,
I even could in pools and exam rooms.
But because your lungs are so
sensitive to what I drag in,
I’ll be less comfortable, and
I will take my shoes off for you.
