Lorenzo POV

I sat there completely dumbfounded. Ava was so fucking fired or maybe I would kill the stupid fucking bitch. What the fuck was she thinking, telling Lindsay what she did. Granted most of it was the truth, it wasn't her place to say anything. Fuck. Thanks to Ava and her big fucking mouth, I had some major damage control to do.

I looked over to Lindsay and she looked like she was on the verge of tears. Her bottom lip was quivering.

"It's not what you think." I said, finally breaking the silence that was suffocating the room. I crouched down in front of Lindsay. "I will tell you anything you ask. Please don't jump to any conclusions. Can you do that please, Tesoro?"

I wiped a fallen tear from her check and cupped her face. She leaned into my hand; I felt the warmth from her face but also the wetness from her tears. Why did her tears make me feel awful? Why did I decide to bring her into my life, into Nicolas' life? Maybe this wasn't a good idea.

"Ok, I'll listen." she said with a sniffle. Thank fuck.

"Thank you, Tesoro."

Now, what the fuck do I tell her?

"So, who is Isabella? Is she your wife?" she asked. Okay then, she wasn't going to beat around the bush.

"Isabella..." I trailed off, knowing I had to tell her, "Isabella was my wife." Lindsay looked heartbroken so I turned my gaze down to Nicolas.

"So, Ava was right then? Nicolas isn't actually my son; does he belong to Isabella? Are you just using me until she returns? Where is she?" She asked, weeping.

"Take a breath and calm down, I said she was my wife. Unfortunately, she's passed..." I paused for a moment before I continued, knowing I would be lying straight to Lindsay's face, "and to answer your question, no I am not using you and Nicolas is your son." I stroked her check softly.

"Please don't listen to anything that Ava told you. She had no right to say anything to you. I think she might have a little crush on me, this isn't the first issue that I've had with her not knowing her place. I was planning on telling you about Isabella but with your memory loss, it wasn't the right time. I wanted you to get settled in first."

"When did she pass?" Lindsay quietly asked.

"Four years ago." I quickly said lying through my teeth.

"What happened? I mean, how did she die?" she asked with sadness in her voice.

"Car crash. She was killed by a drunk driver." I have no idea where the lies were coming from, but I am committed now.

My hand was still on her check, and she put her hand over mind. "Oh my gosh, Lorenzo. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories."

"It's not your fault, Tesoro. You knew about Isabella before your accident. You have handled everything so well and you are amazing with Nicolas, I keep forgetting that you lost your memory."
