Lorenzo POV
I exited the elevator with Valentino trailing behind. We were at the hospital on my private floor. He was on his phone, keeping tabs on the men. Some men were left to take the cars to my mechanics, who would go over them both with a fine tooth comb. Some men were talking to the officers who came onto the scene. They all worked for me, they just wore different uniforms. The official report would land on my desk, not any detectives.
But I couldn't think about that now, my priority was finding my family. I approached the nurses station and found a young nurse typing on a computer. Perfect.
"Excuse me," I said. She looked up from her screen. Her blue eyes lit up. Recognition flashing in them. She knew exactly who I was. I would use this to my advantage and quickly find my family.
"Yes, Mr. Santos" she replied, brushing her blonde hair out of her face. "I'm Sara, how can I help you?" she rose from her chair and came around the glass barrier.
"Hi Sara, you see I was in a car accident with my family and they were supposed to be brought to this floor."
"Oh my gosh, are you ok?" she asked as she came rushing over and touching my arm. I pulled my arm out of her hand, not bothering to hide my irritation as I rolled my eyes. This clueless girl had no idea she had zero chance. I was happily married and I was no cheater.
"Yes, I'm perfectly fine. But if you could find my wife and son that would be great. Isabella and Nicholas Santos." I replied through gritted teeth.
"Oh, um, yes. I'll check right now." she sputtered out, looking flustered, as it sunk in what I just told her. She went back to her desk and typed into her computer. After a few moments she awkwardly returned to stand in front of me with her head lowered, her gaze not meeting mine.
"Sorry Sir, hospital records show a Ms. Isabella Santos on floor three, room number 20 and a Nicholas Santos in the NICU. I'm not sure why they weren't brought up here. I can request that they be moved if you would like?" Sara offered.
I only heard the first part of her reply and immediately rushed to the elevator. It was thankfully empty so I jumped in and repeatedly slammed my hand into the floor 3 button. The doors closed with Valentino staring at my swift movements.
C'mon c'mon, why is this damn elevator taking so long. The elevator descended slowly but finally dinged letting me know the doors would be opening. I raced out of the lift in search of the nurses station. I could hear a man screaming. What the hell was going on?
I pulled the gun out of the waistband of my pants and made my footsteps soft not wanting to alert anyone to my presence. I didn't know what I was walking into but I wasn't taking any chances, especially with Isabella on this floor. After following the appropriate arrows and signs I slowly round the final corner I come to an abrupt stop.
The hallway was littered with hospital linen and broken glass. I recognized two men from the hospital security. They had another man pressed down on the floor. What the fuck?
