Lorenzo POV

FUCK!! Over my dead body that Lindsay would ever know that Henry was actually her husband and that Tommy was one of his men. I had combed over the files I had on Henry, and one thing was certain, he was an absolute psycho. I never dreamed that they would find her, but soon there will be a bounty on both of them. I know that money fucking talks and desperate people fucking talk. Once I have them, I plan on making their deaths as painful as possible.

I exhaled deeply, trying to calm myself down but also to come up with a lie that could withstand any questions from Lindsay but also one that would make sense.

"I'm so sorry baby..." I start.

"Sorry for what, Lorenzo?" She whispered.

"I know since the accident you have had some very frustrating moments with not remembering certain things but if I'm being completely honest I was very thankful that you couldn't remember this situation and I was really hoping that we would never have to relieve this but I will tell you, Tesoro."

"You're scaring me, Lorenzo." Her eyes were starting to tear up, she looked so vulnerable.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. It's really not that bad I promise. Do you remember when I told you where we met? Where you used to work?" I asked her.

"Yes. I used to work at a family diner and that's where we met, right?"

Well her short term memory is perfectly intact.

"Yes, that's correct."

"So, what does that have to do with the two guys? Sorry, I'm just really confused."

"Don't apologize baby. Those men are fucking unhinged. They were obsessed...with you." I whisper out the last part, trying not to scare Lindsay with my made up story. "I thought they got the message to stay away from you, but apparently not."

"What do you mean, unhinged and obsessed?" Lindsay asked as she turned to me.

"When you were working at the dinner, Henry was the manager and ran the day to day operations. From everything that you told me and that I witnessed myself he didn't do much except socialize with his friends, flirt with customers and hit on his employees."

These lies just keep coming, don't they?

"Did he hit on me?" She anxiously asked.

"Yes, he did." I don't hesitate, selling this lie even more. "He was always asking you out. Honestly the moment I met him, I wanted you to quit that job."

"So you wanted me to quit because he kept asking me out? Doesn't that happen everywhere? Some people are just persistent right?" She innocently asked.

"No, Lindsay it doesn't. I can guarantee you that when Nicholas is older he will know that when someone tells him no, that means no. I wanted you to quit because he was a creep. He would put you on the closing shifts, so that when you got off work, the buses weren't running so you either had to walk home or accept a ride from him. He would touch you and play it off as friendly or innocent."
