Three Months Later
Shah Zain's POV (Edited)
Ahh!! I can't believe so much time has passed. It's been three months since I last seen Shiza or heard anything about her. I had closed that chapter of the life for good. I don't need any of her fragments to remember. Her betrayal to my family had already left bitter memories in my mind. I want to start afresh. So, alot changed in this past three months. I finally decided to join the company. Yeah!! Shocker!

I know. Dado was really surprised by my sudden decision but nonetheless she was happy. Everyone in the house was amazed and puzzled. Everybody was happy but Lubna and Yusra Chachi are exception. Both were only passing fake smiles in order to join in the family celebration. I am not the CEO as I had already cleared to dado that I still need time to think about it.

She was partially sad but agreed as she thought that she shouldn't pressurize me. Everything is going so far so good. I was handling my position well and baba is happy with me. I had started to focus more on work other than roaming around. Even Hashir didn't believe me and he only believed when he accompanied me to the office itself. I was freshly showered and changed into my today's attire.

I was clad in a dark blue pants with white shirt. My electric blue coat was hanging. I combed my hairs back and wore a watch. I sprayed perfume and lastly wore my coat. Taking my phone, wallet and car keys I descended downstairs. Everyone was already present at the table and I took a seat beside Zarnish. She passed me a sweet smile which I gave her back with equal gratitude. Baba looked at me and asked while sipping his tea

"So, are you going to negotiate with the Malik's yet?"

I nodded my head and answered

"Yes, baba. I'm sure after they'll hear our ideas, they'll change their decision about not investing in our project."

Baba looked quiet pleased. The Malik's are very important investor. We really needed them to invest in our new project. They are very successful and almost every company wants them as their partners. A very fake voice spoiled my peace

"You look too confident, beta. Yad rakhna guroor ka sar hamesha neeche hota ha."

(You look too confident, son. Always remember over confidence always bad)

You guessed it right. It's Lubna Chachi speaking. This woman will never let peace develop. She always has to do something which will result in an argument. Zarnish eyed her mother and whispered

"Mom, stop it."

But Chachi looked least bothered. She just rolled her eyes and I decided to calmly reply

"Chachi, I'm not over confident. There's a thing called self trust. That's what I have in me."

Dado lightly smiled in my direction and gave me a slight nod. Junaid Chachu looked kind of bothered and stated

"Beta, Lubna ka maqsad Tumhen taunt karna nhi tha. Wo to bas bare hone ki hasiyat se advice krrhi thi."

(Lubna's intention was not to taunt you. She was just stating a fact)

I nodded my head and continued my breakfast. I don't want to indulge in any unnecessary family drama. I stood up after eating and mama asked me

"Are you already going, beta?"

I nodded my head and bent down to kiss her forehead. She smiled and blew verses on me before saying

"May Allah always be by your side."
