There was a dungeon in this world. There was a risk of death adventuring normally, but inside the dungeon they would not fear such a fate. It was like living in a game world, like a simulation. So it was worth to try.
Currently, they were in the guild getting their identifications.
They were otherworlders, so they were inherently stronger than your average human. Moreover, they finished the training at the Freedom Academy.
With those qualifications, they got B and C-ranks at their first attempt.
They also managed to meet some adventurers. After talking with some, they were taken in by a party of three A-rank adventurers named Ellen, Kaval and Guido.
"Dungeon? Ah! You mean the labyrinth, don't ya?" (Guido)
"Yeah, that" (Satoru)
Their proposed destination was easily agreed. Surprisingly, it was at the place they went before, the demon lord Rimuru's domain.
"Walking? Isn't it faster to take the train?" Ellen asked as if obvious
The three otherworlders didn't expect much of the train. It was probably a shaky carriage; such was the mental image they got after their classes.
The real thing was much more familiar to them. If their previous travel had that medieval adventure feeling, this one felt more like a school trip.
The Kingdom of Filtzwood wasn't that advanced. At Ingrassia, they enjoyed what seemed like the top of this world civilization, but it still had that antique feeling.
In the World Station, they got fascinated by the size of the city and its buildings. They were so modern.
A day later, they reached the strongest country in the world, the Jura Tempest Federation.
"..."
"That was easy" (Takeo)
"What did we walk all that forest to..." (Miho)
They complained a little about their previous adventure. Even if they enjoyed strong status, at core they were modern people who enjoyed comfortable travels more than arduous ones.
Once inside the city, they got surprised again.
"Since we are here, let's relax for today before going to the labyrinth" Kaval suggested.
The adventurers were kind enough to show them the city.
It had many green people, hobgoblins. But also it enjoyed with a diversity of races not seen in human countries like orcs, dwarves, elves, humans, beastmen, harpy, dragonewts, and many others.
The place was very safe. One of the safest cities of the world. Even with this diversity. It was possible since the Chief Prosecutor here was a strong and scary individual, or so they were told.
The infrastructure also surprised them. Wide roads, many stores, inns and public facilities.
The demon lord castle was something they were awfully familiar with...
"Isn't it just a government building?" (Satoru)
"It's so plain, unfantasy-like" (Takeo)
"Kinda disappointing. Not what you would expect from a demon lord's castle" (Miho)
"Well... Rimuru-san said he didn't need a castle..." Ellen explained
"You know him?" (Miho)
"Of course! You see..."
Ellen started telling many stories about their adventures and the demon lord when the city was just a little village. Many of those stories sounded exaggerated, but they were funny to hear.
