Demon lords are born cruel? Are they unreasonable?
I don't exactly agree with you.
Many had to wander through pain and despair to become one. To become recognized by the world. To oppose this world. They were made cruel; they weren't born like that... probably.
What about the current Nonagram?
Hear the legends.
The first one is a demon. One summoned by some foolish king. The demon destroyed the king's enemies and took the king's country as payment. Then, the demon ascended as a demon lord. A boring story.
As a fun fact, that's how the high humans disappeared as a species.
Well... he later cooperates with the creator to keep peace in the world, and therefore, keeps running his demon lord club, but that's a story for another time.
The second one was a dragonoid. A kid born from the creator and a human, then orphaned at a tender age. The girl grew up with the love of her caretakers and the pet left behind by her father.
One fatidic day, a greedy ghost moved armies against the little girl, to control the power inherited from her parents. Flames engulfed the place the girl once called home. Swords and arrows pierced the ones who raised and protected the girl.
The girl ran away in tears. A small cry reminded her of her little pet in her arms. Unfortunately, she was caught before dawn. Her last companion was slaughtered before her eyes.
The sleeping power in the dragonoid, the one inherited from the creator himself, was not to be underestimated. The girl lost her sanity and destroyed everything in sight. Without meaning it, she killed enough to awaken as a demon lord.
Poor kid, don't you think so? Thankfully, she has found a new family to rely on.
There was a fairy. One who maintained the balance of the world. A kindhearted queen.
The fairy watched the creator's daughter drown in despair and destroy the world. She went to stop her, to console her broken heart.
The merciful queen took the lost souls of the sinners, to allow them to continue their cycle. She did her best to restore life in the polluted land. In the process, she degraded herself and fell off grace.
As a token of friendship, the dragonoid and the demon accepted her as a demon lord.
Truly, a magnanimous fairy.
Even now, she is suffering the aftereffects. Was it worth it? Who knows. But it made me fall in love with this fairy.
In the far west. The three giants were born to prove to the world their might. The second one learned soon that he was the weakest of the three. The other two still competed among themselves.
As their daily matches became boring, they departed to the world. To prove that they were the strongest. To defeat those who call themselves strong. They destroyed the land, growing more arrogant with each destroyed being. It lasted until the creator stopped them.
The youngest rebelled and threatened to destroy the world. The sealing chains wrapping his body put an end to this menace. The oldest became subservient to the mighty creator. He got nominated as the guardian of the Celestial Palace, with the second assisting him.
Centuries later, the demon recruited the now pacifist and rational giant. As a strong individual, he was qualified to become a demon lord.
Boring, isn't it?
