"Be ready! I will soon attain my true form. Wahahahaha!"

One day, Ramiris came spouting such words. It has been almost a hundred years since we met. A hundred years without maturing.

<<She said that after a hundred years, she could regain her true powers>>

Oh! Something like that happened, didn't it? Now that I remember, Ramiris said something like wanting a protector for a hundred years or something like that. As always, Ciel remembers it better than me.

<<Heh>>

In a nutshell, Ramiris explained the process. She was in a continuous cycle of death and reincarnation. After hundreds of years, she finally collected enough power to mature. In a few days, she would fall into a slumber and then return to her true form.

It got noisy afterwards. For one, Ramiris' subordinates became busy, trying their best to make a slumber room worthy of her majestic return. Treyni explained to me something like that.

Veldora and Dino didn't show as much interest as I believed they would.

"She is only becoming taller" Milim also treated it as nothing to make a big deal about, but she couldn't fool me. Even the dense Veldora noticed how Milim was fidgeting over Ramiris' ordeal.

I believed my bestie, but then I got into a more troublesome issue.

"You will look after her during her awakening, won't you?" For some reason, Guy came to threaten me. I think this is his own way of looking after an old friend.

Soon after, Dagruel-san came to check on Ramiris. Even Obera-san and Zalario came. We were busy dealing with so many guests. I, for one, would have loved to ignore most of them, but with the power and influence they exuded, I couldn't.

Well, with everything said, those demon lords and primal angels left a few days before the promised day. By that time, Ramiris made herself a room inside the labyrinth. It had a great semblance to the place I first met her. Not the nasty labyrinth, but the inner room. A place where spirits and spiritual power were overflowing. Even if it was in the innermost place of the labyrinth, protected by our last boss, it was bathed with the warm light of the sun.

With everything said and done, Ramiris fell asleep. After about three days, the nature of her power changed slightly. I worried a bit, but Ciel-sensei reassured us that it was more like a seal release.

She surrounded herself with that fancy looking cocoon. When I tried to peek inside with <Magic perception> I found out that she had almost dissolved inside...

Is it really fine?

<<It seems that it's part of reconstructing her being>>

Like the demon lord awakening?

<<Negative. It seems like the power contained within her is finally available to use>>

It wasn't only me who worried. Treyni and her sisters were still doing their work in the labyrinth, but it looked to me that it was their way to forget for a while about their worries, a way to be occupied with something. Beretta stood still near Ramiris, watching for her cocoon and for anyone who got near the room.

Dino was either a great actor capable of fooling Ciel-sensei's perception or he wasn't worried at all. On the contrary, Milim was cheerful as usual, but unrest was perceived from her small gestures.

Veldora was worried. By the time Ramiris enveloped herself into a cocoon, Veldora stood guard in front of her room. He denies it, but he has a soft spot for her.
