Thirty minutes battle

"I am gonna defeat a demon lord today!" Kenya declared proudly in the middle of the arena located next to Veldora's last boss room.

"Wow! So cool Ken-chan!" Ryota cheered for his friend as if it was not his business.

"What are you talking about, Ryo? You are helping too!" Kenya complained

"Eh? No way... I don't wanna defeat sensei..." (Ryota)

"I don't think it's a good idea" Gale tried to stop his friend's antics

"Come on! We can do it now that we have grown up" (Kenya)

"Hahahaha! Foolish one! What makes you think that only you have become stronger?" Rimuru, who was called to battle, played along with Kenya's discourse.

"Shut up! This is revenge for all those times!" Kenya said with a tear in his eyes.

"Hahaha! There is no way a demon lord is losing to a mere human!" Rimuru was enjoying the situation. His students became stronger and now, one of them asked for a spar.

"Then, I am gonna become a hero by defeating you!" (Kenya)

"Keep dreaming!" (Rimuru)

"Eh? Sorry, I don't really care" Ryota shared his sincere opinion, without filters.

"Me neither" Gale said while sighing

"We can do it!" (Kenya)

"Hey, get defeated quickly so that we can leave. It's been a while since we had a chance to meet Shuna-san..." Alice urged Kenya

"Speaking of which, Shuna-sama just released a new collection after around a year without anything new" Kumara ignored Kenya and talked with the girls

"I saw some sketches and I know that they are amazing... I wonder how long they will last..." Chloe too, participated in the girls' conversation

"Hey! You girls come here too" Kenya demanded

"Eh? I don't wanna" Alice just rejected the offer

"I just fought Velzard yesterday, I am too tired" at least, Chloe tried to give an excuse

"Did you fight that Velzard-sama?" Kumara kept ignoring Kenya and asked what caught her attention.

"Yes. We both wanted to try something new, so it worked fine" Chloe related how she ended up fighting a true dragon as if talking about the weather.

"And? Who won?" Alice showed more interest in this conversation than Kenya's fight.

"We ended in a draw... the labyrinth was about to get destroyed and Veldora-san came to stop us..." Chloe said with a little awkward smile.

"That cowardly lizard?" Alice almost jumped in surprise

"I don't think that Veldora-sama..." Kumara tried to defend Veldora, but since she too had seen how Veldora normally acted near his sisters, she couldn't finish.

"Ku-chan, you don't have to defend him just because he is your boss. He runs away each time his sister comes" (Alice)

"True, but he has become more valiant" (Kumara)

"Because he got sensei on his back" (Alice)

"As expected of Rimuru-sama" Kumara didn't lose a chance to praise her lord.

Alice let out a laugh. It was funny how monsters revere their teacher. As she grew up, she started to notice how childish was that adult she once admired. Well... according to Gobuta, Rimuru-sensei was younger than them.

"Hey, girls! We don't have all day!" Kenya didn't give up and kept calling his friends.

"Are you afraid of fighting alone?" Rimuru provoked. It was obvious that the rest weren't interested, and it would take forever for Kenya to convince them.

"What? No" as Rimuru expected, Kenya responded to such cheap provocation.

"Then, let's end this soon. It's almost dinner time" Rimuru said as he remembered that today Shuna promised to cook for them, as the kids were visiting.

"It can't be helped... Get ready!" (Kenya)

Rimuru was happy for his student's growth. So, he received his attacks for thirty minutes before defeating Kenya. It had nothing to do with him wanting to recreate the first exercise he did with his students. The one Kenya wanted to take revenge on.

"How?" Kenya asked after being defeated. The reviving bracelet wasn't used, as Kenya wasn't badly hurt or killed, just subdued.

"Hahahaha! Do you get it? There is no way you can defeat me!" (Rimuru)

"Uuuu... It's different from what I heard..." Kenya lamented.

"You heard?" Rimuru took an interest in that last part.

"Eh, nothing..." Kenya noticed his slip of tongue soon and tried to cover it. Unfortunately, his friends were coming near.

"Did you challenge sensei over a weird rumor?" Ryota sighed. His friend was as hot-tempered as the first time they met.

"Maybe because of that... the other day, Gobuta-san told us that you didn't finish Hakuro's training" (Gale)

"Also, that you are bad at swordsmanship, and that you would lose to Hinata-neechan. Since Chlo-chan won just the other day against Hinata-neechan, I thought that maybe..." Kenya spilled the beans. Now that his motivation was known, there was no reason for him to keep hiding it.

"And you believed Gobuta? Out of all the people, Gobuta?" Rimuru asked, amazed. The kids grew up in Tempest and they should have learned that, even if he was a commander, Gobuta sometimes said nonsense.

"That's right! We graduated from master's hellish training, so I thought that maybe..." Kenya complained

"Ken-chan" Ryota looked at his friend with pity.

"Also, Benimaru-san didn't say anything..." (Kenya)

"Sensei is more of a magician. A very tricky one..." Chloe, who came closer with the girls, gave her opinion.

"Also, Chloe is one of the strongest heroes in history, of course, she is stronger than Hinata" Rimuru added. By this time, it was not a secret to the kids that Chloe was an active hero before Shizue.

"Let's forget that and get to eat!" Gale took the group out towards their next destination before another long discussion began. If they were to be late, they would be scolded by Shuna.

A little bit later, they were enjoying dinner together, talking about their experiences so far.
