Malaya stood outside near the garden to keep people away, she pulled her phone out and hit the phone icon scrolling through her caller list to find the number she was looking for. She hit the number hearing a couple of rings before a few words were spoken.
"Hey Saria, just calling to check in."
"Hey yeah everything is okay, your baby is fast asleep." The beta chuckled. "Though are you sure you're checking in or calling for help? You seem a little down."
"Oh, haha yeah.... everything is okay, just a lot going on with Vaani and her family, it seems the drama never ends." The alpha explained briefly; it wasn't her place to say more nor what happened to Vaani as she didn't know what was happening herself.
"What did you expect they're known for their wealth and status, you know rich people always have some drama. It's in their routine." She laughed as a cup was heard placed on the counter.
"I know but don't they get tired of it. Something always pops up after one is solved— I just can't simply handle it."
"Oh well you have to get used to it girlie. Once you took the job offer to become Ren Arison's assistant was the start of a new drama. Hey you get front row seats lucky you. Though I think you're one of the new cast as you're now Vaani's girlfriend." Malaya blushed at the word girlfriend as she didn't know how that could even be possible. She had a girlfriend. The alpha scoffed, earning a knowing smirk on Saria's face.
"You're blushing aren't you." The gleam apparent in her words.
Malaya cringed as to how aware Saira could be. "No... why would I?"
"Yeah sure if you say so."
"What about Saria Jones, when will she find her other half hm?" As the aforementioned left the call silent, Saria cringed for the reason that she didn't want a reminder of her love life.
"Mm... don't know, googled it and it showed that I was a few miles away."
"Come on, I'm serious."
"So am I."
"Malaya? Malaya!" Julie frantically called out, the desperate and disheveled look on her face alarmed Malaya. The omega was heaving as she gasped for a breath of air; she rested her hands on her knees for support as the running left the girl exhausted. Therefore this made Malaya set her phone away from her ear.
"What's wrong?!" She quickly aid the omega leading her to the wooden bench in front of the large bushes. "Tell me what's wrong?" The alpha tried to soothe yet it came out a bit strained, her omega situation wasn't still eased. However it may be Vaani's younger sister she wasn't yet comfortable to ease in.
"It's Vaani. Lena, my dad's wife, is getting under Vaani's skin. I don't know why, she seemed nice when we first met her but I think she has a grudge against Vaani since she was against father getting married." The omega stopped swallowing hard.
"She's causing an altercation to grab people's attention by publicly humiliating her. I think it's best to get Vaani home before she does anything she may regret."
"Okay let's go." Malaya began to follow the omega forgetting the conversation she had with Saria. As the vibration from her phone reminded her, the phone ended. "Crap, I have to call Saria back." She spoke directly to herself yet it made the omega stop in her tacks as her eyes widened, directing her eyes onto the alpha.
"Saria?" She questioned in a low tone hardly audible if it wasn't for the close proximity.
"Oh no no no.... She's just a friend." Malaya frantically waves her hands disregarding the accusation the omega was assuming. She wouldn't ever cheat on someone the alpha wasn't that type of person.
