Narrators pov
Y/N glanced at the side of the bus reading 'Goal' one last time before turning towards the four leaving the bus. She walked up to the group and looked down at the floor, "I'm going to stay here." She said, trying to sound as sincere as possible.
"What, no! Who knows what will happen?" Arisu pleaded her to stay but she couldn't help but look into his eyes. "Exactly." She mumbled, "who knows what will happen? I want to stay here, maybe I will be able to get the bus going."
Y/N scrunched her eyebrows and put on a reassuring smile for Arisu, "I will be okay! I used to take on engineering as part time.
Y/ns POV
That was a lie. I don't know anything about engineering. I know this bus is the goal, i will wait till they figure it out. If they survive then at least it proves they are truly as intelligent as I think they are. I don't think brainless people should survive because somebody else told them how to.
This may sound cruel but, thinking back to Chōta, Karube and Shibuki. I miss them because I gained close relationships to them all. That was my biggest mistake here in the borderlands. I shouldn't get connected to Arisu just because he cares.
I hold onto Arisus arm, "Go on, i won't be too far." I smiled at him. Body language is always something I try to keep mind of.
Arisu looked down at the phone, "Please be okay..." He spoke quietly.
110 minutes remaining
Just like that I watched as they all looked away and began running, Arisu was still stood. He still hasn't got over them. He then began running after them.
I headed back in the bus which caught to attention of the guy in the back, "What are you still doing here!?" He seemed alarmed. "I'm staying here, I might be able to get the bus started." I lied once again.
If I told the truth he would obviously be mad which would just stress me out so I just repeated the same excuse that I used on Arisu.
"Your name is Takuma, right?" I looked over at him. He nodded and looked down at his foot, "I do hope the others are okay.." he was worried. "Don't worry about them, they can handle themselves." I looked over at his leg, "What game was it?" I asked him, normally I'm not one to carry on a conversation but I was indeed curious. He looked over at me, "Shouldn't you be trying to get the bus started?" He seemed irritated.
Didn't need to be so demanding about it but whatever, "hm.." I scoffed and went over to the front of the bus. I attempted to open up the front of the bus but it was locked, it must have a key. It's not like I'm actually going to open it but I can at least mske it look like I'm trying.
I looked back at my phone, Distance 0. "Hm" I smiled. I believe that Arisu will survive, he will figure it out in the end anyways. The woman, Uragi, she is athletic so whatever happens she can keep up. Not sure about the other guys though.
If they die, I won't feel any empathy for them but I will put them. The bus runs on deesel, there isn't any inside the bus so I don't see the point in trying. I look at the phone once again, 1 hour to go. This is going to be a long 60 minutes...
I look over at the side of the bus once again, "What does that mean?" I hear a voice behind me. Shit. I turn around to see Takuma, he stares at me blankly. "Goal." I couldn't help letting out a smal smile. He knew what I meant, clearly.
